Thanks. Unfortunately it doesn't change the fact, that I couldn't use our last chance for the next round. With yesterday's loss we are out. I had some time to go through some stats and wrote already a couple of NT player managers a message.
During the next weeks they will try to help out and improve their guys.
How akward this season is, you can see if you look at Macedonia. They crunshed Slovenia and beat The Netherlands yesterday. The win against The Netherlands is still a surprise, especially with this difference.
It looks like we could be the deciding factor during the last game day...

this season is a huge disaster! it started with the injury of Säfen in the first week and the problems keep coming. Smol was injured at the start of q2, Birgersson was fouled out at the start of q3 and our defensive specialist, which is perfectly suited for the RnG/3-2 game was destroyed by a 24 y/o 90 C. Not one game went according to the plan. We have more injuries alone this season than in all season before... together. It's just frustrating, that our team couldn't show its full potential yet -.-

Before the last game day, it could be interestig to take a closer look to our group.
Lithuania is first and will play against Slovenia.
Croatia is third and will play against the Netherlands.
And Macedonia is fourth and will play against us.

There is a "bombastic" scenario possible.
Lithuania wins, the Netherlands win and we win.
This will result in a four team clash... Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia and the Netherlands would all have a 4:3 an compete for second place. I don't think Lithuania will tank their last game, neither will we. So the last game day will bring three "linked" games and the outcome could be decided by just a couple of points.

And that was the final point in a dramatic, horrific and bad luck season. Currently I am shocked how bad it went with such a heavy loaded starting five.
During the next weeks I will do everything I can to bring the team back next season. For me, it will be do or die. If I make such mistakes again like this season, I will make a ajustment than.

We still love you!
For sure the ball was not our friend this championship.
Keep at it and I love to read what you write.

@Lövet:
Yeah, you are right. I will see what impact slow/normal tactics could have.

The misery goes on. Smol was injured on tuesday and is out for two weeks. That's just insane now...

On Monday we will play your neighbours: Suomi. We NTs decided to go for neutral playground and enthusiasm 1.

Okay, this season is killing me I have officially no idea left, why our team plays so crazy. In every game, we have a window were we get crushed. And I mean outscored by 15 points in 4 minutes or so. The opponents score and we can't get a single bucket. It would be clear to understand, if this would happen during the last couple of minutes of a game. But his happens sometimes during the first quarter, than right after half time.
So the point that our stamina is too low (it got higher during the last seasons, so this isn't the factor) can be ruled out.

There is also almost no difference which tactic I play. They will play one half time on a high level and the other half time is the worst case scenario. The best example here is our Mr. first half (Westerlund). He scores 25 points during the first half and ends the game with 29 points.

And than, looking at the team, the skills and the results... it doesn't match. They underperfom heavily.

I'm open for every idea, explanation, test or hint you have. I really never had such a hard season with any of my teams. Currently I'm left with a lot of questions and almost no answers...

P.S.: never play CT during the first game... that kills your mojo.

The horror season is over and we managed to finish it with at least a OT win. I really hope, that the new season will have no similarities with the old one.
I scouted already all the Pot 9+ players and took a look at the youngest ones. There are some great prospects, but it looks like, that we have a shortage of big guys.

The lack of big guys is concerning in my opinion. We are constantly behind other nations when it comes to U21 bigs and I would like to see that trend hopefully change soon.

The few that we do have are nice builds though (Westerlund, Birgersson...).

Yes, the current big pool is deep. We have all kind of bigs, so there is no problem to choose.

But the long term could be bad. Looking at all the big trainees, which are not in the NT, there are only a few who could possible reach the NT.
Jonas Jannson, 25 years.
Per Lennartsson, 25 years.
Eric Mellbeck, 23 years.

And I fear that's it in the class 22-26 years. We have a far higher quality at the PG/SG/SF position than on PF/C. One of the reasons is an engine problem. There are much more smaller high potential players, than tall ones. There is almost the same amount of players with 183-188cm as with 208-226cm. And most of the tall players have really bad guardskills. This adds to the training problem. If you have to start with 4 skills at 1, it will take a lot of time to bring him to a decent level.
