i dont think it is an incredibly important skill for a C, especially compared to all the other things you could train them in, Rebounding, free throws, inside scoring etc

good luck with them

I think its useful to have a little bit of driving for a PF but for a C not so much.

Okay, so back to Shot Blocking for Centers and how it benefits them. I would say that Shotblocking (SB) is not a Very important skill to ahve, perhaps a secondary. But if you are training centers than you MUST train SB once in a while. The lower SB is compared to the players other inside skills, the slower the main inside skills will pop.

Eg.

Player A- 7 IS, 7 ID, 7 RB, 1 SB

Player B 7 IS, 7 ID, 7 RB, 7 SB

Player B will train considerably faster than player A in all 3 main skills (IS, ID, RB) because of his SB skill.

Other than that, SB is probably just as useful as FT's but less useful than Inside Defense.
Anyone care to correct me or comment??

Potential is not a factor on training speed, unless u r close to soft cap

I'm training bigs and have decent SB on some of my bigs and my thought is that it is useful but currently increases salary at a disproportionate rate and it is still unclear to me if it has a more dramatic defensive effect than the ID skill. It's nice to have but I am not convinced if it one point of shot block is more valuable than one level of inside defense.

Exactly what i am saying man. 1 pop up on JS is free and helps a lot rather 1 SB pop up

i think its good to have DR,but I would not train it and i consider PA,HD and some decent JS are the more important secondaries

I assume that FT is very important for every player and shot blocking should be trained only when its slowing down the main skills training

sorry about my english

Well Stamina and FT i am always training during the time that i have only 1-2 games per week. For sure those are essential.
FT and stamina coming 1st for me as a secondary skills for every player, but i insist that driving is over rated for the big men
