I got a great 18 yo trainee SG in the draft with very similar skills. He does okay, but nothing explosive.

honestly i wouldnt even play a guy with mediocre OD in div4 in australia unless he was a trainee and it was going to go up asap and at 33 that is a bit unlikley

however that is the secret to success just search for really old guys or guys with really low potential like benchwarmer and you can find some real bargains

The thing is there is a difference between competing in IV and making a run for a title. If you want to be serious, which you have no reason not to, you have to have good roleplayers who might otherwise be stars on a lesser team.
Right now, I have only one player in my lineup under 7k salary, and that will be short lived because he's a trainee.
Don't be afraid to spend, it is necessary to be a force in IV.

I thought he was looking for a bench SG? If that is the case I think any veteran like the one posted would do.

The impression I got, based on the original post, is that he already has a player similar to the one posted and is actually trying to replace the guy because he's not cutting it.

That is exactly what I am trying to do. I picked up a guy with the same OD and ID, but with almost twice as good JS, 50% better JR, and superior other skills for 290k. I probably paid to much, but I am not overly disappointed. For the rest of my team, I have 4 total trainees, and decent enough (for my goal to not get demoted) other players. With the addition of this SG, my team stats are much more rounded. Thanks for the help!

I don't mean to be a jerk but that is a weak league to be honest. There is no reason not to fix holes and make improvements in your team at all times. At the IV level, a lot of teams are just one or two players away from winning the league. If you focus on improving those terrible(no offense) game ratings, you could have an opportunity to win, and if/not set yourself up to win the next year. But you have to believe you are going to win games and manage accordingly.

I turned my team around with basically a core of three players that I acquired and then trained, then I just built around them and had confidence in myself and my team to win games, and that was a 5th place team turning around and winning the league. You act as if you are in a borderline III league where you are hopeless and might as well just scrap the team. I'm in a bad spot now because I'm outgunned by most teams, but I'm already planning the blueprint to improve my team, certainly not going to "scale back salaries". That's just nonsense. I need to increase my salaries, not go backward.
