If you could beat team A why wouldn't you try and beat them and promote? Surely promoting is better than a very small prize for guessing the winner.

sometimes it a different betwen being better, and being able to win against them at home ;)

I'm not saying that you have to be better than the team, I am not the best team in my league, but I am still going to try and promote.

but sometimes a given up game, could help you to win others and if it even a close game or a likely loss agaisnt those top team you could try it especially if you are looking for the relegation matches and have to screw some games anyway.

Perhaps, but I think if there is no prize then it is a pointless suggestion.

it needs to be a prize that does not effect the game, like a trophy for supporters or a different bb background for winners only, something silly like that would prob be ok, though i still think we will get dumb people who will lose to try to get this stuff.

Even with no prize, it would influence the outcome of some games. The prize is "I was right, I have won, see I said so, whatever..." feeling/bregging rights.

i dont want to promote, because i'd have to be dripping in blood sweat and tears to try and promote, then i end up in D.II then what happens. If this suggestion comes into play, i can get myself something extra without having to get clobbered in D.II next season.

You mean, you would like to stay in the league for the feeling that others makes tips on you?

On that note, it is better for a team financially to finish last in the division above (div II) than it is to finish first in the one directly below it (div III). You would also get a bigger fan base for promoting into div II.

Finishing last is very good for draft options too. I think it is (nearly?) always better to promote than staying below.
