I'm probably missing something, but I just don't understand how training can be that profitable.

Spend 200k x 5 trainees (18 year old with decent potential)
Buy a level 4 trainer with 12k salary for 50k.
Train the player until they turn 21.

That is 700k for staff salary.
700k in salary per player.
That is 5.2 million total cost.
You need to sell each trainee at 1 million just to cover the cost of the training.

But if I'm missing something here then please point it out.

you don't have to spend money for "regular" players, who normally loose value and their effort correspondent to their salary wehile trainee are cheap especially at the end of the season at this category.

Yes but if I had just trainees and no regular players I would lose all my games...

I think the point you are missing is that training is not all about profit. Yes the profits that were previously available from selling trainees was nice, but to be frank I doubt the market will never be the same. The incresed amount of well trained players has brought prices down and I cannot see it changing.

Training however has become even more imortant imo. The reason for it is the really multi skilled players that are 'unique' are practically impossible to find and are extremely expensive. So training from with in is a great stratagy, and my team is a good example of that. I have seven players on my club that have been trained since day one, and are worth far more than the money I could have saved during that time, by using you stratagy.

The bottom line is that one of the best parts of BB is that there are alot of personalized choices including, how you build your team and your players. Whether training is a part of what you choose to do or not is really your choice and hopefully for you it works out. For others including me it is a stratagy that I would never employ, but that surely does not make it wrong.

when they are expensiv then your training is efficient, and you also could have trained for the market ;)

True. And thaat is why I said there is no right or wrong way to play BB, results are what matter. Not how you get there, and with todays market mor teams are going to be forced to adjust there stratagy. Personally I like it!!

I'm not saying others have to do it, I'm just saying that I'm trying it for now and seeing if it works.
I still train a little bit here and there, but only enough to boost the value and then I sell the player.
And to train 5 trainees I have to play them in my league games right? Which means that I'm probably going to lose. If I was in division 3 then of course I would be training, but in my division right now I don't think I can train profitably without losing games.

But you only have one victory...
So... you are loosing games and not even taking benificts from training... hummmm

And it doesn't look like you've expanded your arena since August... so where is the money going?

If the total efforts of your transfer activities have resulted in some old guys that will have marginal sell on and zero trainees... where is your next monies going to come from if you can't win in the division you are in?

I just finished another expansion last week (nothing major but still an improvement).
Well my team now is the best team I've had since I started the game, so that is where the money went.
Well I make 150k a week, and my current team is enough to make sure I don't relegate, so I keep saving money and trying to win my league with these older players, and if I still don't promote then I can use the money that I am making each week to upgrade a position further down the track.

I'm tanking though and I can tell you it's fun!!
