i think the Dirk vs Bird comparision makes more sense then the Lebron Bird comparision, even when they play different Positions but Bird they have a lot in common what comes beyond the colour of the skin both have nearly unguardable Jumpshot, don't have a superior athletic, are teamplayer without Monsteregos in Interviews and for the rest i had to watch more Bird games but that what have sticked into my mind was comparable to Nowitzki.

Now compare Bird to Lebron, what do they have even in common?

Maybe a better comparision to Lebron is Magic Johnson, considering their type of play. Because he is like Lebron a very versatil players, even when it isn't a exact matchup.

you mean, LeBron image in the public is just as bad because of white interviewers? Are they responsible, that he make jokes about ill opponents? That he already celebrate multiple championship after the decision(ok maybe thats more Miami stuff), but you don't hear stuff that often from him that his teammates are important parts for his succes etc.

Durant(he is also black and hyped, but probadly in a region withonly black reporters) is really humble, and represent sportmanship in my eyes.

And bird wasn't the dude, who pla with his athletic, and he wasn't constantly the fastest, strongest dude with the biggest hoops on the court - i believe he rarely crack it up in one discipline. Bird was a fighter, but also more a finesse guy in the offense. Lebron is for me more like a Rolling tank, with mediocore shot, good passing.

i didn't say he was athletic disabled, but he wasn't a superior athlete and even when he was he rarely used this athleticsm. He have a extrem fast release, nearly "behind" his head which he used a lot for scoring he used the attention he got from the defense pretty good also with his passing(which is in my eyes not so good then the one from Bron, but he have imho a better feeling for the game). And Bron works stuff out with his outstanding atleticsm.

And about your ASD argument, Dirk played the 3 at the begin of the Dallas days, in germany, and sometimes in the german Nationalteam - and yes in Dallas and the NT he was also used as a C. And they are both tall scorer who work with their outstanding JS a lot, and penetrate as option 2. I don't think the comparision is that wrong, because i won't get a player in mind who i could compare with Dirk and is known by everybody.

ok Lebron is a top shooter, who is a point forward, while he get the ball during the offensiv process in his hand and not mostly during all of the attack ;) Lebron runs more a PG play, even when he had the size, of an SF and the weigth of an PF. Bird was a SF, who sometimes goes moreto the PF pos(in terms of rebounding has similiarities to that, and not those rush to the board you had by small players like Kidd and Wade and often lebron)

Jordan played also defence against forwards btw., but Jordan is not really comparable with Lebron or just a comparision where Lebron has to loose by a ver ybig margin.

And i don't say that Lebron don't have substance, he is one of the top players currently in the NBA, with Wade and Durant(maybe Rose, Howard and Dirk too in the group).

It´s impossible to compare this 2 players i.m.h.o.

Basketball has changed a lot in this (not so many) years. Players are now faster and stronger, defenses have improved a lot, rules have changed, etc...

I think Jordan is the best because of his pursuit of perfection and his stellar appearences echa and every time he was needed. He was like one of those heroes from comics, he alwayd delivered when the game was on the line. Despite all the changes I think Jordan could adapt quite fast to current basketball.

However, because of the changes I've mentioned I truly believe a pleyer with the talent, speed and strenght of Lebron playing in the later 80s and 90s would have been the best player cause he would have been ahead of his time, exactly as Jordan but better because of physical attributes.

And again, Prince James chokes when the pressure is on. Even being wide open he decided to pass the ball and didn't take the shot. Even though he started strong, he slowly but surely fade away from the game. Still comparing him to MJ?

Except you have to look at why players are stronger/faster - and that usually comes down to training.
If Jordan were playing today, he'd have the benefit of that same training... thus it's a moot point.

I never said the opposite.
