Well what every way MVP write ups are done I'll be happy to do them again If I'm still around and even if I'm not I'll try to contribute where I can

I agree with leeroy, skyhookz, mllama and yara park bears on this one.

Sharks are not even active anymore... we barely have 1 post in the feds per week. It was not like the good ole days.
In saying that I would like to commend bainsy and skyhookz on initiating most of the discussion that does go on in there.
Sometimes I even feel I have let those two down with my lack of interest in the discussion or even the PL itself. Its not their fault, its just that my motivation has changed somewhat.

Times have changed, and we have to change with it or leave a lot of people isolated or unhappy. This is why I am happy to have redraft. I am not speaking on behalf of the sharks, I am speaking on behalf of Koopasaurus LOL

I have taken a backseat in most of these discussions for some time now. I won't deny that I have lost interest. Change
in priorities and burn out all contributed to it. Back in the day, there was only Calimari versus Sharks, and that was easy to manage. MVP writeups and what not was easily done cos of the high motivation at the time. Now that everything is so much larger in scale, planning and writeups became tedious.

If we ever do go the shark, caliamri, platypus route... I would give my blessings for skyhookz and bainsy to take a lead role in captaining the sharks or planning cos they are very enthusiastic and youthful about it.

@ petevas the reason we have seperate feds is we have a lot of secrets there

It would just be the same as what we've got in these forums. What would be the point?

We add the feds to make it more competitive.

You can still have your seperate feds, but have one fed that involves everyone may just make the interest factor more interesting as more people may discuss things. The seperate feds that are allocated to different divisions may be less active, but they will still have that competitve touch when discussing some issues.

The reason we keep all the PL discussions in the IV.7 forums is so that people who don't have supporter can still view and contribute to the community. We've had this discussion plenty of times about moving it to a fed but always come back to the same point. If someone is sitting for a season we don't want to cut them off completely just because they don't have supporter.

How about an International style setting

Have 4 sepearate divisions followed by a playoff system. 24 teams (4 group of 6 and 1 match each) followed by a 16 team comp (4 groups of 4). Followed by the final stage of 4 teams. Seems like alot of work but it also gives teams enough time after ASW to prepare and focus on their league matches. It also gives lower ranked teams the experience and knowledge for future matches.

Once again, just an idea.

Also fishy listed those that are inactive on forums. Maybe have a rule saying, if not somewhat competitve and somewhat active in forums, need not apply.

I have a few thoughts, so I'll just jot them down in no particular order...

Firstly, with regards to fishy's list of people that contribute, I'm not really sure how you came up with it? There's obviously been significantly less talk on the IV.7 forums, but I don't think anyone in particular is to blame for that. There hasn't been many discussions to get involved in this season, but there's every chance that guys have been busy with other things, etc. Also, you obviously don't have access to all of the other federation forums, so I don't know how you can really judge who is or isn't contributing?

I'm not sure that contracting is the best plan, especially if the plan is to cut something like 12 teams. Surely the more teams involved, the more likely there is going to be discussion, etc? Just because someone might be quite on the forums for a few weeks or so doesn't seem like a good enough reason to cue them entirely from the PL. How do we judge who should stay and who should go anyway? Who gets to make that decision?

I do agree that teams that pan on tanking/rebuilding, etc probably should sit the season out, s there doesn't seem much point in them playing if they're going to give up a massive win to their opponent each week. They should still have the option of being part of one of the federations though, if they would still like to be involved.

With regards to the redraft, it probably couldn't hurt to mix things up, if we want to keep the whole 'teams' idea going. The problem is, there seems to be one team that wants to stick together. Ill leave this to everyone else to come up with a solution.

I'd much rather see one federation where we could get together to discuss a bunch of things e.g buzzer related stuff, non-buzzer, etc. I'm involved in quite a few federations in HT and there's never been any problems with having to keep stuff 'secret'. I find the whole secret squirrel business a bit silly to be honest. If you want a more lively and active fishbowl then stop with all this secret business. There's a perception amongst a lot of managers that the fishbowl is a massive boys club anyway, so the fact that people want to keep things a secret probably doesn't help that perception.

With regards to the suggestion of implementing a handicap, I don't like it. The whole idea of a PL is for guys to be able to play the full squads with no injury risk, no game shape management issues, not having to worry about maximising training minutes, being able to try different tactics, etc. Telling someone they can't play their best player or two seems ridiculous. Sure, I might not be able to beat the majority of ABBL teams (except tremell haha) but that's just part of the game. I don't want to beat an ABBL team by making him sit out his best players and I don't think that's really in the spirit of competition. I can also see this being more trouble than it's worth and potentially starting dramas if guys don't adhere to it. Just leave it be I say and let guys play their best team.

After all that, I probably should talk about the most important part - the actual structure of the fishbowl. Perhaps it's time to give it a bit of a shake up and try something completely different? One suggestion could be a 'world cup' style tournament, with 8 groups of 4 playing in the group stage, then either 1 or 2 teams from each group progressing to the next stage and the rest of the teams playing off for the 'fishbowl plate' or something like that. Could also be a good time to trial other teams that want to be involved. There's potentially endless styles of leagues we could do, I won't go into them all know, but if people were interested I'm sure we could come up with an interesting concept that would mix it up a little. We could always go back to the original format after that and keep changing it up to keep things interesting.

im not blaming any1 for not participating it is their choice but the aim was 2 have a league where people do participate if peeps want a quiet league w no banter go create 1

more always seems better but id rather have a small shot glass of JD than a sack of goon

2 many peeps here doing nothing just makes 2 much work 4 guys like yoda, koop, akuma, tremell, mllama,bainsy & skyhook etc who stuff

who gets the final say on who is in & out is a hard call but it is a PRIVATE league so we do have the right 2 have who we want id say yoda & koop should have the final say but if they dont want 2 id be happy for a small committee of say u & me 2 do it i know we both dont mind pissing peeps off

tankers should sit - could put me in a dodgy situation as i will be on a budget roster but still will have an $80k sg, $60kpg, $50k sf etc but will be training guards as Cs so will have a messed up roster

redraft is essential, sure we calamari want 2 stick together but if we do a redraft we wont so there it is it will be up 2 the drafters 2 decide

u may find the secret stuff silly but i think the 3 other feds arent like the calamari, we have real secrets in ours & there have been lots of peeps in the pl that i dont trust that were liars & cheats so i like 2 choose my friends

i agree handicap is a real hard call could be a deal breaker 4 some & leading 2 issues

structural changes r great ideas but the 1 thing we have 2 be careful of is peeps sitting out 2 long the pl games r the best benefit of supporter & also no matter how we try 2 make the leagues close & interested they still seem apart & the problem with ur world cup stype is by the second stage it will be all abbl v abbl in the top groups leading to the problems they already talked about - was fine when we were all in d2 & 3

To be fair skyhook if we had used the sharks Fed for our conspiracy than sundae and all them would have been all over us. Steam FTW
