Well we may have lost the match but we won the hearts of the whole country with our battling performance , we held our heads high even when it went against us , we never gave up. We got it back to 8 points before giving up some foul shots.

Final score Los Mikitos 88-78 Irvine Blackhawks.

The clock strikes midnight on our cindarella story. It was a truly valiant performance against the 4th ranked team in the country but ultimately we came up just short.
Good luck all still in the tourney.

Third quarter was really tight with the Wasps managing to pull level. The Wasps big men blocking and forcing misses, and the guards putting pressure on Sabre's two PGs. Either team could have won it as the fourth quarter started.

A fourth quarter in which the Wasps took control, first edging in front, then looking more comfortable as the quarter went on. Outstanding shooting giving the Wasps the edge 30-19 for a 89-78 win.

Sabre won the rebounding battle 60-49, which was actually better than expected. However they shot lower than their usual high percentage, managing to hit 34 of 98 shots.

What won it for the Wasps was the turnover battle. Sabre turned it over an unlucky 13 times, the Wasps coming up with 9 steals and a huge 15 blocks.

After last year's disappointing run to the third round of the Cup, this game has put the Wasps in the Sixth Round, equalling their best performance.

Here's hoping for another home draw BB Gods.

I watched Vector's game earlier tonight. Their first defeat of the season. I'm not quite sure what to make of it. They were 25 pts down after a very one sided first quarter, and while it never got much worse for them, it never really looked like getting better either.

Also, Vector have played their starters in both league games, so I suspect they might be rested on Thursday, and they'll also TIE the game, since I'm sure they regard promotion as more important than an insignificant Cup game against a middle ranked DII team.
