ok, man, btw i just reached Div I in Brazil with a joke of a 10k arena. now i'm upgrading it a bit and with the extra income generated by those seats (sold by max prices) i'll match my division's average weekly income. forecast for this season is to finish 5th in my conference, by next season i'll have enough cash to upgrade a bit my roster and keep growing, the plan is to be fighting for championship in 3-4 seasons, by there my arena will be around 15k which is a perfect size for a max division. for me a joke is to ostentate a 20k+ arena that never gets filled even with lower prices.

but, seriously now, don't hear to what i'm saying, keep building, those millions could be used to bid on the players i'll be searching on the transfer list, build empty seats instead!!!

I wonder what the prices were in your div V times. It wouldn't probably be extremely hard to attract an audience in div V with prices set around 5/17/50/400 for example, however you would generate the same income as a 5k arena with full prices. The 5k arena having cost many millions less.

You tell me, he was D5 in S27, D4 in S28, D3 in S26. You started around that time so you'd know about ticket prices better than I.

Let's clarify something here: this guy from your example plays since season 8. Almost 30 seasons. It's quite a lot of time. During 30 seasons you have plenty of opportunities to pile cash and build a 20k arena. My point here is that beginners in big countries, where you start in divisions IV or V, shouldn't put all their money on building seats as advised by most. You should build carefully and invest primarily in trainees. There's a no cost way to make your arena generate more income in the beginning: raising prices when your arena sells out consistently. In the beginning it won't sell out even if prices are low. So why build seats then? That's my point. Of course if you play in South Africa or UAE you start from Div I and ok, your arena will be small from scratch, but that's not the case for most managers here. That mostly explains why the astonishment of this thread's creator when he realizes his audience is dismal. He's used to play in Japan Div I and now in Div IV things are much much harder...

If you're already in Div I without a maxed arena, you made a huge and expensive mistake.

So here's the logic you're not seeing. You're spending money to "match the league average". That means teams stronger than you will still be earning just as much or weaker teams will be earning even more (quite possibly a combination of both). I assume you're under the salary floor, which would mean you should be double the average (I am more than double with the demotion penalty!). Instead you're spending to barely catch up when that money should be helping you be competitive at the next level.

You will need to with your aging roster. Most of your players are losing value, so demotion would set you back quite a long way to be sustainable at the top level. I could buy a roster as strong as yours today and still have millions to burn, even after 'wasting money on my oversized arena'. I'd rather be 2 divisions below you making more weekly revenue with my already built arena and promote when I have my trainees at a level I can build a sustainable roster around.
