I think if the rule were to be implemented where a WO game would force the home team to payback the fans(lose arena income), then to avoid any sabotage, if the away team is the team that forfeits then the away team would payback the fans(lose the same amount of money as arena income for the home team in that game).

It does not matter, it's still considered a walkover as no game actually takes place. The point is, there should not be an option to deliberately not field players. If they can, then the penalty should be current weeks income.
Even if both teams do not field any players. They just lose out on training. The home team still get's stuck with a win.

So I can sabotage my oponents income, with not fielding a team in an away game. No game no income from his arena:)

There is a very simple solution to this. The one who sabotaged gets to refund the people who bought the tickets.

Double punishment in a week is not necessary...

Why punishment? If you'r playing at my arena and you don't field a team, no game is being played and I have to refund the people who came to watch the game. Since it's been your fault, I charge you the amount I had to give back to people. Seems fair to me.

So a walkover team get's to pay for the away game and also loses his own arena income? TV and merc are not touched?

But we were talking only about the case where you play an away game and don't field the team.
If the team does a walkover twice in a weak, so in their home and away game, they get to refund people twice, yes.

For the sake of the example, let's say each arena in the league nets 300k.

WO team plays saturday an away game, doesn't field at least 3 players, pays 300k to home team.
Then the same team plays tuesday, doesn't field at least 3 players, gets 300k from attendance and then refunds people by same amount.

Result of two walkovers in a week: -300k. I guess nobody would do any intentional walkovers anymore.

Seems fair to me too.

Seems fair to me, too.

It still doesn't address the issue of tanking, if managers put 10 1k players on the scorecard.
