Bugger that, don't come in II.1, it's awful


Finally promoted last night! Cant wait to find out which div 2 division im put in. I wonder which div 2 division is considered the strongest/weakest at the moment......

On another topic, Im finally going to expand my puny arena to a suitable size! Depending on the competition, it'll either be a bleacher/lower teir or courtside/luxury expansion.

So i started doing some research and I was surprised to see these rules in the game manual.

As many local laws prohibit teams from overbuilding arenas to attract an overflow of fans in smaller sections of arenas, teams are prohibited from building more than 500 court-side seats or 50 luxury boxes in their arenas.


Whats everyone's take on this? Seems to me that every Div 2/ABBL team should be working towards the 500 court-side and 50 luxury boxes to maximise their income.

definitely move towards the 500 courtside, but slowly towards the boxes. Just have a look at other div 2 teams this season and finished middle of the ladder and see what arena and ticket prices they have and model yourself around them. That is probably the best way to go initially and then once you are established in div 2 you can start adding more seats and/or putting prices up.

Yeah ill have to do that. I dont have as many seats as most teams so my ticket prices have generally been a lot higher.

i think they limited them cause they are 2 good so that means 2 me u must max them asap

agree with triky that u do the courtside 1st i still cant fill the lux boxes

here is mine 4 example

Bleachers : 15400 (Current Price: $12) (Price as of 11/5/2011: $12)
Lower Tier : 2550 (Current Price: $40) (Price as of 11/5/2011: $40)
Courtside Seats : 500 (Current Price: $110) (Price as of 11/5/2011: $110)
Luxury Boxes : 50 (Current Price: $700) (Price as of 11/5/2011: $600)

this gives me a good weekly income so i can save a bit, buy guys or do whatever

u can work our urself how much i make but 2 make it easy here r the last 5

9/20/2011 League Game against The Pwnage $ 315 651
9/24/2011 League Game against Rampaging Marmots $ 320 520
10/1/2011 League Game (Televised) against DownUnder Thunder $ 282 246
10/8/2011 League Game against adams guns $ 338 900

so that leaves me $150k-$200k profit a week in good weeks - stupid downunderthunder noone wanted to see

Yeah thanks for the advice fishy. I agree with you that since they are limited, it hints that they are seats worth maxing.

I'll definitely try and get my court side maxed first since they seem to be the real money makers.

Looking at your past luxury boxes, have you ever came close to filling 50 with lower ticket prices?

if u r smart & lucky u can stay up with a 250k roster & spend the rest on seats this season

I went pretty deep in the Cup, and in my final Cup game, I got all 40 of my luxury boxes filled - but I usually get no more than 30. I haven't seen any ABBL teams max them out, either, but I haven't really looked. I'd say go with 30 in div II.

no even abbl usually most is mid 30's, but I dare say we are charging more than a div 2 team. Here is my arena :

Bleachers : 17500 (Current Price: $18) (Price as of 11/5/2011: $18)
Lower Tier : 2100 (Current Price: $65) (Price as of 11/5/2011: $65)
Courtside Seats : 500 (Current Price: $180) (Price as of 11/5/2011: $180)
Luxury Boxes : 25 (Current Price: $1400) (Price as of 11/5/2011: $1400)

and my last 2 attendances :
10/15/2011 Kynlala Knights 16052 1907 489 23 18471
10/11/2011 SmeltzTroopers 16609 1922 489 23 19043

(don't do the math on what gate receepts are, it is 200k more than div 2)

you want to be getting around 90% capacity on each seat type, that is when you know you have got your number of seats and prices right. If you are maxing out one, either build more or put those prices up slightly, not getting close to the 90% and drop some prices slightly or win more games ;)
