And it just goes to show that they were probably never really very smart about it all but, rather, just very lucky and powerful with the amount of buying power and influence they had.

There's that old saying.. something about once you've got your first million, the rest are easy.

The rules were changed to make it harder for these big town teams. It has completely moved their one advantage and they do need to think differently. The trade is not a bad deal. We need someone to C next season and can afford him. Gives the young guys , Russell, Clarkson, Randel, Brown, Brown etc a season to develop. To get close to the finals will make the team a better option for top level players as with Kobe gone or at least on a lesser deal can afford 2 guys on max contracts easy.

The big issue is they treid to go from poor to top level in on go. Should of tried to sign 3 guys for 10 million instead of 2 for 15+ each. Find a few guys to make the side middle table not bottom. Nest seasons draft pick will go to 6ers as we will not be that bad again.

I have hope that Upshaw might be worth the risk.

Suggesting that the Knicks' business model is outdated sort of implies that it was effective at some point. It wasn't.

Unless you count throwing mountains of cash at mediocre players as being effective ;).

I don't know Sid, you tell me...
If you were in my shoes, would you rather battle to the death against Sid or mllama... Pretty easy choice imo.

Back to NBA... Looks like Jeremy Lin is going to rejoin his old team mate Raymond Felton as the Mavs backcourt LOL JJ Barea will be starting once they sign him up.

PG Lin / Devin Harris
SG JJ Barea / Felton
SF Chandler Parsons / ???
PF Dirk Nowitzki / Jeremy Evans
C DeAndre Jordan / Dwight Powell

They just need a defensive swingman and they should be playoff bound. Goodbye Rondo and Monta Ellis.
