Scratch that found some time today. I made them shorter to balance out last weeks loooong recaps.
Match day #9 7/31/10
Prov City Investors @ Marietta Magic. Just because you know a team’s strengths and how they will play doesn’t mean you can beat them. PCI realized this and took it easy against Magic. Magic 89-50.
Armageddons @ E.C. High-Flyers. To balance out the huge gap between the PCI and Magic game, this was a close thriller that went into overtime. The Flyers were noticeably not giving it their all after coming out strong, and allowing their lead to dwindle. They managed to pull out the win in a low scoring OT period, 89-84. The 19 turnovers in a patient offense for Flyers might have been the reason they almost blew the game.
Indiana Gavno @ San Diego Crusaders. This was one of the highest scoring games I have ever seen without going into overtime. Crusaders 128-123. The San Diego boys are one game closer to getting out of the auto-relegation spot, but it’s a tough uphill battle that they are facing.
Roxas City Red Claws @ Tachenko. The Claws have officially given up, and this was their second game of only bringing 3 boys to take the court. Tachenko isn’t complaining and is drooling over the bonus PD, 141-47.
1Derz Bangerz @ Cleveland Crazys. Bangerz wanted the win more, but got frustrated throughout and committed way too many fouls. The matchups today favored the Crazys and they were able to coolly win 96-81. Phillip German commented after the game on his team’s performance and said, “We jelled really well today for some reason, I think everyone is just comfortable with each other now and the game is easy for us.”
Chicago Goats @ Champaign. Goats put more effort into the game, but it didn’t seem like it in the first quarter. They dug a ditch way too big for them to climb out of, and despite make the next 3 quarters quite a spectacular game to watch, it wasn’t enough. Champaign 101-89. The big men of Champaign were getting beat, but their backcourt was dominant today and was able to keep the crowd confident in the team.
The Illusion @ TDX Dutchmen. Barr and his boys were expecting more of a fight from the Dutchmen, but they took it easy and were saving their efforts for their upcoming Cup game. Illusion 99-54.
No Potential @ Red Terrors. The Terrors had their eye on the prize despite playing with less effort, and executed fundamental basketball with excellent minutes managing. No Potential on the other hand might be living up to their name. Terrors 100-88.
Nightly Notable
Víctor Viana of the San Diego Crusaders. He had 41 pts, 12rbs, and 3ast, in 40 minutes. Talk about efficiency that’s getting the job done.
