and you can get totally incredible players late in a low level draft in a league with lots of bots

would anyone like this player

Basil Frame (12018636) Shooting Guard
Owner: Rosudgeon Raptors
Weekly salary: $ 5 042
DMI: 46200
Age: 18
Height: 6'6" / 198 cm
Potential: hall of famer
Game Shape: strong

starting $5042 18 and mvp what got to be worth a fortune

was he pick one two three

Basil Frame was pick 21 in the season 10 draft by Rosudgeon Raptors.

good player, but, you need to have bot team's in your league, and also to have a lot of luck to pick them before bot 's :-)
And, if you have bot team's, you can pick up such a player spending just 5-10k on draft, or even nothing.

well you can still pick him up in a bot league spending nothing but your chances are similar to the bots to really find all the hidden gems you need to spend much more

i only spend 10K but I will probably get the third last pick and there aren't many bot in my league

if i was in a low league or down near the bottom of any leage i would spend a lot more that one pick can be the thing that changes the fortune of your entire team if you do get a $1,000,000 player

Spending more money gets you more information on players

Getting more information on players gives you better idea on who is a better player in the draft

See, that's the problem I have. The scouting and draft list information doesn't tell you who's the better player. Case in point, from later in the thread:

Basil Frame (12018636) Shooting Guard
Owner: Rosudgeon Raptors
Weekly salary: $ 5 042
DMI: 46200
Age: 18
Height: 6'6" / 198 cm
Potential: hall of famer
Game Shape: strong

starting $5042 18 and mvp what got to be worth a fortune

Basil Frame was pick 21 in the season 10 draft by Rosudgeon Raptors.

...and he was Rosudgeon's #8 preference. What does it say about the usefulness of the draft list when it leads someone to make a talent this obvious his eighth preference?

I see what you are refering to. But for one you are talking about Australia Div 4 draft where majority of teams are bot and don't pick properly.

Secondly there might be reason why that player could end up being his reference. If you scout a player once, you only know what his raw skills are and not his age and potential. So if I have information on other guys that have the same in raw skills and I know their potential/age then it would be logical for me to put those players ahead of a guy that I do not know what his potential is.

So , if I'm on the 5th place in my division is it a waste to spend 40k on scouting?

Want to see another crazy example?

Edmund Tokley (12018877) Power Forward
Owner: ScullyFC
Weekly salary: $ 5 506
DMI: 7500
Age: 18
Height: 6'9" / 206 cm
Potential: starter
Game Shape: awful
Edmund Tokley was pick 47 in the season 10 draft by ScullyFC.

A $5,500 18 year old second last pick. Gosh some people have all the luck. Information is really useful, that being said I have only spent $10,000 all season, it has been just too tight to spend more.

He was only starter potential though so i wouldn't call it great. Not bad for 2nd last pick though.

Also division 4 draft where most teams are bot.

You won't get these scenarios in Aus div II upwards as all teams are active

I've been playing Norwegian top league this season. I was clearly the worst team in the division from day one and my objective was to train my two PF's in outside defense and passing to make them SF's. Therefore I knew I would loose most of my games (as I did) and are being relegated. I've invested 40K every week and I will let you know how my draft goes in a few days...
