It's not really smart to abandon real life obligations either though :P

I think working on this website is real life, isnt it?

If the developers choose to walk away from this game and pursuit other ventures this is their choice. The only problem I have with this whole situation is how they are doing it - posting a short message explaining the whole situation seems like no big deal to me, but maybe it is for a scientist.

The main man going bot is a horrible sign where the site is heading, like Schettino abandoning his ship...

Even if the game is not abandoned, the people who are running the show now should grab a book and learn sthg. about PR, thats a huge part of the success of such online games/communities. Sb. please explain to me why it is impossible to talk to us every now and then - Marin does a good job, but if there are a handful of people involved, and obv. its even more, its time to get them involved and get in touch with the community.

actually have no issue with the BBs continuing to improve existing functions and stability over dev.ing few features. I'm not on the bandwagon for new features all the time. I will be happy with improvement of existing functions. Improved approaches to economy (arena income no longer based 99% on last game alone), training, GE etc. I want to see stuff that is there and has been discussed in forums by users over and over and over fixed already. LIke with the whole buzzerbeta roles thing I would be sad to see another features nobody asks for or wanted implemented in the presence of multiple popular suggestions for even basic improvements of existing functionality. We don't need 'more' or 'new' now IMO, we still need better, especially considering their limited resources for devs and bug handling as it is.

I agree that the Buzzer roles really sucked, and the forum polls really sucked but some new stuff could be a money maker. I know I would re-UP my supporter if they had career stats for my team. I know that this game could bring in some real money that could equal or come close to their real jobs pay if they just gave the game some TLC. From a game aspect, Hattrick is killing this game. Just recently they added the Loyalty setting to the players, last season the TEAM OF THE WEEK for the league..These are things that can be added quite easily but no one has the juice...

The best way to compare the difference between HT and BB is that in BB, individual players and matchups actually matter. In HT, they just exist to create the sector ratings that are used to calculate the dice rolls that are their "simulation" of a soccer game but could easily be used to simulate a karate or fencing match (midfield = perception/reflex to see an opportunity to strike, attack and defense low/middle/high rather than l/c/r). In BB, the players' skills are used to determine what happens and the overall ratings are an approximation of what happens rather than the actual input into the simulation.
