Well there you are! You had all those examples all along. I guess the matter is settled.

If you want your minutes to be right, you can't assign any player under "Reserves" UNLESS he is playing the whole game. Only fill out Starters and Backups. So to get proper minutes, your example should have read like this...

PG A/A/A
SG B/B/B
SF C/F
PF D/F
C E/E/E

When you made F and G reserves at SF and PF, they could end up playing ANY position. Doesn't make sense I know, but that's just the way it is.

You've left G out of the equation
I needed for him to get 12 minutes to help with his game shape
He doesn't play at all in your lineup
Have done this hundreds of times
This season seems to deliver extra odd results
He should not cross over and play Center
What's the point of stricly follow depth chart?

Well, you saw what the alternative of my solution was. In my experience you either have to sit G on the bench, or risk the substitutions being absolutely nuts.

OR...make PF: D/G

Reserve players in a blowout almost always get 12 minutes
That was my plan
the player then played a position he was not set out
while the training player was moved to another player
seriously, how does that make sense in a strictly follow depth chart?

OK, guys. I see I "woke up" the forum with my idea. But I still didn't get any feedbacks. I also send a mail to BB-Patrick, but he didn't reply yet. Should I write to BB-Marin?

You did get answers. As someone said, since those changes would impact the GE they are unlikely to be even considered in the short term.

That said, as I wrote, Marin could play around with coefficients that are already there and should influence the substitution patterns. Hopefully that's enough to find a viable solution. I don't know if he has any plan to try that, though.

You're right it definitely doesn't make sense. I don't know how you've been able to do it all these years, but every time I've ever tried to set a player at reserve...they almost always end up playing a different position.
