Thank you both for the great responses, this will be very close. I hope whoever does gets the position realizes there is a lot of work ahead for the NT, particularly with what looks like a very empty cupboard of young talent for the upcoming next few seasons.

I hope the people standing patiently behind the new coach, who ever it will be. Especially if the team doesn't win every game. I don't know how the actual players looks looks like, but from the age structure it looks like the team already has problems with the next generation. Taking over this team is a long term project and it problems won't be solved in one or two seasons. So patients is a virtue and results from the new era won't be visible on a short term. That's the reason why candidate for a long term project.

There are a few 27-28yo that are already good enough to be on the NT, the major problem is that there are maybe 10-15 players really NT worthy, not 30-40 like in bigger nations, so we're highly dependent on a few key players and a "bad" GS on one of these players can compromise games. Even between these 10-15 players there are obvious starters and bench players, it's not 15 potential starters.
So yeah it's not an easy job and with maybe 10 active leagues, that means only ~ 10 NT potential players each season, and of course only a few of these 10 players will get proper training. We don't really have a backup plan, we rely heavily on the managers and their willingness to train a player for 10 seasons. It's even harder when the player gets transferred overseas, you tend to be sloppier when it's not a player from your own country (when he's not bought for resale!).

So ... it is challenging .... but I love such situations. Usually you can work with that amount of people. BUT .. the agreement with your work will go down if the community think the team should be getting better results. and so they vote you work negative.

With players getting sold to foreign countries, I have mixed experience. It could happen (and it actually happened) that the player don´t get training or is always in bad game shape. But I know also managers from different countries where everything works really good - steady progress and good GS.
I Guess the times of trading players around is kind of gone, of course you can always have exceptions. But I made the experience of good training if you are keeping contact with the managers. And this is the core business of a NT coach - especially if the nation ist not a big major country

That's pretty much how I see the job too ;)
After that it's a matter of scouting the opponent (strategies/GS), and be a bit bold when odds are not in your favor (I'm a bit your opposite in that I only use base offense in scrimmages =) )

Scouting and GDP is of course included - if possible.

And to the Base Offense ... There must be a difference between managers ... otherwise it will be really boring

It was a pleasure to "fight" and "argue" in order to run for the NT Coach position. If it will be always that nice in the German community ... May the better man win (hopefully me ). That´s all from me side.
