The other dream would be that you finish 5th and magically understand all the complaints about the 5th place finishing position. ;)

That's true Armageddon right there.

Basically, 5th is better than 6th and worse than 4th as a place to finish.

If you dont lose your relegation series and demote I dont see how 5th can be better. It has to be roughly 400k to 800k more revenue. That might be better then the 3 or 4 seed too.

Why don't you just say it's relative to the manager involved? The relevance stems from either being in that position in question versus trending the value throughout the seasons.

I think it's closer only because the team that demotes still can sustain a higher level of salary than the teams in the league. Meanwhile the 5th place team got a better draft pick ( because the smartly invested money available to them) than the teams moving up and gradually make up most 1 mil staggers because the promoted teams try to catch up and buy a player the staying teams already have.

Last but not least the cup/tie factor that becomes a debate every season and I refuse to comment on Any further.

I admittedly have not ran any numbers on this, but can safely say based on being the gerbil in this experiment that it really depends on where you end up. Bounce back quick, no issue. 5th is still better than 6th and performs better over time. Hang out in div 2 more than 2 seasons, might as well tear it apart, start over (these players do age) and hope you get a crap demotee.

In lower divisions, I would imagine it's worse because more teams in lower divisions are more inclined to take more risks (CT) than in the nbba
