well i can kinda understand where he was coming from, i just offered an existing game solution.

i think he is just one of those people who is easily offended when their idea is applauded loudly or when someone disagree's with it.

poor diddums. ill try and pacify him with internet sarcasm and meme links.

Nah it was a stupid idea, like you said there's already a workaround for it... plus this is a game of tactics.

yer thats it, game of tactics, most definately.
Otherwise we would just have a button on the set line up page that says "set best lineup and auto-manage game shape"... i just peeved when someone writes a nice logical and non-shut down response, which i always try and do, because there is nothing worse than having people poo poo ur suggestion in a mean way.... but he( Or she?) just got so offended.... stupid lady. LOL
but apparently im a genius.

WOW I nearly dropped to 4th after tonights games! You and corio both flogged your opponents and nearly made up on the points difference! Well.. Corio did. so i dropped to third, but meh. no matter. it was me vs him, or him vs me week 1 of finals so yer.

well done to tantrums for finishignt op of ladder in their first season in Div II! Regardless of how this season was played, finishing top in ur first season is a great achievement.

My MVP predicition for this season -Guriy Batyushkov ... id probably say Massetti, but Nortcote didnt win enough games. they run the MVP early now, so get ur predicitions in early!

Well the time has come people, as we are a day before the playoffs officially kick off. Talk about the calm before the storm, not a lot of chatter about upcoming games and relegation battles.

Myself and Big Sauce go at it in a rematch of last Saturday's final regular season match. Both teams went into that game with a relaxed style in order to prep for the 1st round battle. Most gamblers would be giving my lads the tip of the hat this week, given home advantage and win last week. The angry sauce won't be pulling any punches no doubt!

In the other match, Tannums managed to snag top spot and with it a very easy walk through to the 2nd round. Akuma are even rumoured to send some of their cheerleaders into the starting line up. This one's likely going to get pretty ugly and Tannum's main goal would be to sneak through unscathed. I think the extra enthusiasm that Tannums will gain is a necessary bonus, along with HCA for the preliminary final.

The battle in the Big 8 looks a lot closer with all 4 teams being matched quite closely. HCA is going to be crucial in these games and I think in the 1 vs 4 match up, Snuffies may just edge out G Vipers. This one is a 50/50 if ever I saw one and I certainly wouldn't be betting my life savings on this game. If both coaches are live on Tuesday, neither is going to have any fingernails (and possible toenails) by the final buzzer.

The 2 vs 3 isn't quite as close with Corio Bay looking just a step ahead and with the home crowd support, should be able to lock this one up. though there isn't much between the two starting line ups, I think a lack of bench might be the difference in this one. Perhaps with a little cunning though, the linguists might be able to steal this one away from the wiley old Greyhound.

Cool, but you missed the most exciting games, me vs lordy & his 2 minute noodles. This is more thrilling than even my finals last season, this time I am against 1 of you elite teams, wow wow wow. I looked through every season ever, never been a 13-9 team facing demotion before, lucky me to be the first :P

I think you have a decent chance of beating my team and if I lose a guy to injury it's pretty much a foregone conclusion.

Good luck.

Hey ViOlator great write up.

I am certainly feeling pretty fortunate to be in the position I am given how hard most of the Great 8 have been tanking this season :)

I do feel for the Windies and hope they can come up with the win given if I was in the Big 8 I would probably be in that spot myself.

Hopefully injuries don't decide the playoffs for anyone - it seems a lot of teams (apart from Snuffies I guess) have a fair bit of a drop off from the starting 5 so an injury to a key player would basically put them out out of the running.

It is certainly nice to get such an easy run in my first season of DIV 2 but I don't expect my team to get past the second round of the playoffs. You never know I guess so we will see what happens.

Good luck to everyone.

I agree that the battle for relegation is going to be a beauty but I choose not to get sucked into the battle for the bottom. For me it's all about playoffs and teams striving for glory.

It seems a bit funny to me that people get more excited about who avoids relegation, rather than who gets promoted. The ABBL is the classic case of this, as those teams are all about the trampoline effect. Doing enough to save as much as possible without relegating so they can consolidate a spot up top for a season or two.

Very unlucky for Windies to have such a good record and then come up against Lordy, who had it easy and was able to save enough to buy in some relegation savers. Gonna be some good match ups, might even have to pull up too sore for footy training tomorrow night! lol
