I dare to disagree, and no amount of exclamation points will dissuade me.

In what way is Carmelo Anthony rated over Dirk? Dirk Rebounds, Blocks, Steals, Assists more than Melo, and scores just as much... at a higher %, especially from 3-pt range, where Melo is horrid.

Oh yeah... and has a Ring. 'But, but, Melo doesn't have a supporting cast!' And neither did Dirk, neither did Wade a few years back when he got his. Neither did Lebron in Cleveland, yet he got them into the Play Offs.

So yeah, I disagree. In real life. Your first 4 are pretty solid, I'll give you that. I got Wade 1, Dirk 2, Bryant 3 and James 4th. So we don't disagree THAT much. 3 of our Top 4 are the same, just slotted differently. If we are talking RECENT, not sure why you have Kobe so high as it is apparent his game has slipped some (still an All-Star easily, but not the Same Kobe from his Prime).

Please, if you have anything to support that Melo is better than Dirk, show me.

So basically you could not play Wade at the 4.

You could play Wade as a 4 for a few trips down the court, yes. Like Magic Johnson played all 5 Spots in an All Star Game... obviously he didn't play them all the entire game. If you wanted to go into a very up-tempo offense, where you break even after made baskets and tried pressing full court, Wade could well move to your 4. You would never play like that for an entire game in the NBA, however... which is why I say 'not for a game', meaning not for an ENTIRE game. Just in certain situations.

Before i bring stats into the equation i would like to say y dirk isn't as good as ppl say he iz. 4git dis season look about 3 even 2, no no one all those seasons ago. Dirk's name wasn't out there like it iz now. yes he's in his prime, but everyone has thier good year. dirk's record recently, had a decent season play 1rst round, lose. nxt year good season 2nd round, lose. then again good season 1rst round lose. ok so this year they go all da way. but what changes the team, addition of tyson chandler and stepup game of jj barea, and also i believe caron bulter was added also. better team better resu;ts not necasarily a better dirk. I anit hatin on dirk now, hes the 2nd best pf out there rite now. yet he's not as good as ppl try n make him. during the playoofs and the playoffs alone he played so well. he won his, lik he wanted but now the passion is lower, and i'm sure that he won't do so well nxt year.

Now, the c melo/dirk comparison. ok from nba.com thier carrer averages. Dirk is 23pts, 8.4 rebs, 2.7 ast, .476 fg%. Melo is 24.8pts, 6.3rebs, 3.1asts, and .459fg%. So they got eachother beat in diff things. Dirk is a matchup nightmare, and almost can't be defended. He has a shot and rarely misses. melo is the2nd best offensive force in this leage. his jumper is way better than dirk, and is more clutch and knows how 2 win. That's the difference and that's y i put him b4 dirk.

kobe is da best player alive no questions.

To question Dirk's clutch is absurd. He hit game winners in the Finals. That's clutch. Even shooting 28%, he still put home the winning basket (Game 3, was it?)

As far as 'improving' the Mavs, you speak of AJ and Chandler like they are All Stars. They are not, however what they are is excellent role players that play that role for the best of the team.

Kobe WAS the best player alive, as late as 2 seasons ago. He isn't right now, but he can regain that form as he is still young enough... but the competition with both vets like Wade and Dirk, along with the young crowd like Durant and Rose, will make that more difficult.

u noe im not even gonna argue dirk n e more. but u must have some gang green or autism if u even think, or mention that wade, dirk, and rose wil ever reach the level kobe has shown us through his carrer. He has impacted the game and defense as long as the game will continue. even at his age he still puts up 25+ pts a game on average. rose isn't. i promise you that kobe bryant means more to his team and has a larger role than n e one else in nba history except for MJ23. He is the best player now, 2nd best all time and it won't change until he retires. If u can plz tell me y n e of dose ppl u named are better than kobe plz push urself 2 write it. Top 10 NBA Players. Not Top 10 NBA Players over the last 5 Year, last 10 years, last 15 years.

We are discussing now. So you can't really take more than 1-2 seasons into account, last season... the season before, and perhaps as deep as 3 seasons ago. Anything further back than that isn't relevant to Top 10 NBA Players NOW.

If talking all time you have to look at guys like Oscar Robertson. Jordan doesn't hold a torch to those Triple Doubles... Jordan actually only had like 52 Double Doubles. Mike is still the greatest because of how he did it and how he took over games, especially play off and finals. So I do think MJ is the best ever (Oscar would be 2 for me, Wilt be the 3rd) Wilt can talk about scoring every bit that Jordan can. And I think that Jordan is MUCH better than Kobe, so obviously I would have to consider Oscar and Wilt better than Kobe as well.

Looking over the last 2-3 seasons, I can see plenty of players that mean what Kobe means to the Lakers. Not last year but 2 and 3 ago, Lebron meant that to the Cavs. Durant means that. Take Dirk away from the Mavs, do they even make the Play Offs, much less win it all? CP3 probably means as much to his team as Kobe does to the Lakers.

The reason I drop Lebron so much is that he went to a much better team and still didn't win, against a team with many less stars to stop. I do down grade Wade a bit, because he allowed James to cost him another championship. Still, Wade gets the benefit of the doubt, as he has won it all before with a less than star studded team.

I do keep Kobe up there, but these last two seasons he hasn't been exactly the same Kobe. To the degree that at this moment (last season) he's not the best NBA Player. All time, he's truly great. 3-5 years ago, top in the game. Right now, he's not #1. All time, he's not #1. But there were solid seasons put together where none was better in the league. Much respect for Kobe, but you have to understand this is about NOW.

Just about every other player mentioned on other peoples lists. Scoring 100 Points on 180 shots does not make you the best player in the league. Still doesent pass or board. Has a Sick team around him making him look good. Plays Pretty average D. Best Shooter in the league? Maby. Best Player? Not a chance.
