The rookie is Andrew Goldelock. I don't even recall Morris in the game

Hmm, I think we don't have quite a large enough sample size to say that yet. Lakers played without Bynum, and honestly losing to the Bulls by 1(easily could have won) may be more impressive than beating the Warriors.

What Clippers' player contributed off the bench? Mo Williams? Right... I'm still not sold. The Clips beat a mediocre GS team and the Lakers almost beat a title contender without Bynum. Does this mean the Lakers are better either? Absolutely not. However, I think the Lakers have more depth and they played some stingy defense as well. As much as I think Mike Brown is a terrible offensive coach, he is a very good defensive coach and his team is buying into it. He also does a very good job of coaching the players on the sidelines and seems to have their respect.

If you were watching on Xmas day then you would know that the Thunder and the Heat will meat in the finals. Both dominated their games throughout (both scores were closer at the end than the game actually was, especially Miami's) against very good teams and both are young enough for the grind of the season. Yes it is only one game, but their is a reason why both of these two teams are being picked to win their conference and I tend to agree with that thinking.

Who do you guys think are going to meet in the finals? Try to be unbiased or this question will turn into a "homer" picking contest. I HATE the heat btw...

Very early in the season to call anything, but I'll go ahead and do it anyways. Celtics vs. Thunder

I like what I saw out of Rondo...looks like he might have developed his shot a bit better, and with that on their team, I think they can make it to the finals this season (though, they'll probably get 4th seed or something). We'll see how it plays out.

I chose the Thunder because they're the only team in the west that doesn't seem completely new and still figuring out what they're doing. If the Mavs or Lakers get it together, I think it's possible for them to make a title run, though they both seem less talented than the Thunder. We'll have to see how the Clippers do as well...

Interesting choice in the Celts. I think they will be fine once they get Paul Pierce back, I just don't know if they have the energy for the shortened season. They need some scoring off the bench I think too, but we'll see. They have the experience and if they can stay healthy you might be right, who knows.

You might find these picks a little strange as well but these are who I think will be in championship:

New York Knicks (3rd Seed)

I expect C. Anthony and A. Stoud to do much better with chemistry in their first full season together (even though it is only 66 games). I also expect C. Anthony to kinda name himself the leader after watching him own the 4th quarter vs the celtics. As long as the Knicks can get any progression at all out of people besides Chandler, Melo and Stoud, which I think they can, they should be a title contender.

VS

Denver Nuggets (3rd Seed)

No one has ever said anything about the nuggets, but clearly they are better then the Mavs who the completely destroyed. They also have probably one of the best benches and the most depth in the entire NBA in my opinion. With Ty Lawson and Danilo Gallinari both becoming lead roles, I expect them to make it far in the playoffs as well... they might even win it.

That is very interesting. My question is, how do you think the Knicks stop the Heat with their pathetic defense? The only guy that knows what defense is, is Chandler, and the coach has no clue...

I think once Baron Davis gets healthy and gets in shape he gives them a solid PG option as well, but again, he has no D. I can see the Knickerbockers in the ECF, but I can't rationalize in my head how they can get by Miami.

As for the Nugs, well sure they are young and are deep, but they couldn't make it to the finals with Chauncey and Carmelo both playing out of their minds. I think a 3 seed is possible because of youth and depth though. Especially when they get their players back from overseas. I like the outside the box thinking here though and do like watching them play. Will be interesting to follow.

Nuggets are a season team...they'll win a bunch of games because they have so much depth, but when it comes down to playoffs I don't think they have enough raw talent on their main players to be able to break through. I'd say they get 5th seed and are out after the first round.
