EAST ALLSTARS
Managers voted: 12

East Point Guards
26 (7/1/3) - Harm Jan Bertens (19604989) - Geelong Vipers
21 (3/5/2) - Joel Vulcan (12020354) - JW City Bulls
12 (1/3/3) - Sven Tragter (16760013) - UWA Panthers
5 (0/1/3) - Sid Costello (21093284) - Awesome^.-
3 (1/0/0) - Giulio Dimai (19462259) - Gisborne Gladiators
2 (0/1/0) - Jean-François Courregès (21000240) - Skyhook Dreamers
2 (0/1/0) - Adrián Ahuir (7476329) - shepparton shooters
1 (0/0/1) - Tayfun Özkutlu (7996691) - The Winnerz

I actually expected the voting to be extremely tight but it turned out to be pretty much a two horse race from the get go. It was neck and neck between Bertens and Vulcan however the last 3 voters really had impact on who were going to be starter. Bertans received 9 maximum votes compared to Vulcan who only grabbed 3 votes. This meant that Bertens clearly leapfrogged ahead of Vulcan to become the East Point Guard starter.

East Point Guard Starter: Harm Jan Bertens (19604989) - Geelong Vipers
East Point Guard Backup: Joel Vulcan (12020354) - JW City Bulls

East Shooting Guards
26 (6/3/2) - Viktor Csörgõ (19802932) - Skyhook Dreamers
12 (2/2/2) - Jarosław Garbos (13624470) - Gisborne Gladiators
12 (1/3/3) - Pekka Kesonen (11071611) - The Winnerz
11 (2/2/1) - Jarrod Corica (14844503) - JW City Bulls
10 (1/2/3) - Archie Dougan (25104384) - Los Coolfreakz El'Ninios
1 (0/0/1) - Leon Boise (6912794) - Home Axis

Csörgõ's numbers alone were already going to be difficult to challenge this season and as shown he dominated the voting. However some unexpected twists and turns saw backup spot became an extremely close race. The final vote made the difference with Kesonen receiving one vote while Garbos receiving zilch! So it came down to a tie breaker.

It was difficult choice as both really deserve to be selected as an allstar. Both were popular with managers with Garbos voted 6 times and Kesonen 7 times although Garbos received the maximum 3 votes twice compared to Kesonen once. Also going through MVP votes, they were equal which was no help there. So in the end I had to look at statistics and individual games. Statistically they were even if comparison per 36 minutes but one thing that won me over was the defensive side of Kesonen with way more steals and blocks. So Kesonen gets the vote ahead of Garbos.

East Shooting Guard Starter: Viktor Csörgõ (19802932) - Skyhook Dreamers
East Shooting Guard Backup: Pekka Kesonen (11071611) - The Winnerz

East Small Forwards
32 (10/1/0) - Chris Johnson (18924084) - The Winnerz
17 (1/6/2) - Stuey Faka’osifolau (18085336) - Brisbane Thunder
11 (1/3/2) - Ilya Pronin (9584114) - Skyhook Dreamers
5 (0/0/5) - Garrie Addison (18085302) - Gisborne Gladiators
4 (0/1/2) - Pedro Manuel Vallesteros (9643286) - Awesome^.-
3 (0/1/1) - Brandon Donnellson (6047190) - Home Axis

Johnson fantastic Fishbowl season so far was rewarded the title as best East Small Forward garnering 10 out of 12 maximum votes by the Fishbowl managers. However not be forgotten, Faka stormed home over the top of Pronin with 12 votes to 3 to also grab an allstar spot as backup.

East Small Forward Starter: Chris Johnson (18924084) - The Winnerz
East Small Forward Backup: Stuey Faka’osifolau (18085336) - Brisbane Thunder

EAST ALLSTARS
Managers voted: 12

East Power Forwards
32 (10/1/0) - Junel Viojan (13434471) - shepparton shooters
16 (2/4/2) - Thomas Friedrich Mayriedl (5766859) - Home Axis
15 (0/5/5) - Muharem Mahmutefendić (13530645) - Awesome^.-
6 (0/1/4) - Jed Feigl (16744545) - UWA Panthers
3 (0/1/1) - Artemiy Dayneko (14865427) - JW City Bulls

The voting was primarily dominated by three men with one standout in the name of Viojan. Viojan just like Johnson was a favourite among the managers giving him majority of the maximum votes. While Mayriedl just pipped Mr Consistent Mahmute. It was another nail biting finish as the final voter once again was the difference giving Mayriedl 2 votes and Mahmute 1 vote to end the debate who deserved the backup Power Forward spot.

East Power Forward Starter: Junel Viojan (13434471) - shepparton shooters
East Power Forward Backup: Thomas Friedrich Mayriedl (5766859) - Home Axis

East Centres
23 (7/0/2) - Xiong Weipeng (18085689) - shepparton shooters
21 (2/7/1) - Dejan Kuljović (10918386) - Home Axis
13 (2/2/3) - Eric Shelden (9890444) - Gisborne Gladiators
11 (0/3/5) - Žoržs Vasjuks (9605858) - UWA Panthers
4 (1/0/1) - Mihály Paizs (16869405) - The Winnerz

At one stage in the voting, Shelden was lead dog but slipped away as the final votes came in and left Weipeng and Kuljović to fight for the starter and backup spots. Once again it was a close race and as every vote counts, Wepeng grabbing the last 3 maximum votes was enough to get over the line as starting Centre.

East Centre Starter: Xiong Weipeng (18085689) - shepparton shooters
East Centre Backup: Dejan Kuljović (10918386) - Home Axis

East Wildcards
15 (0/5/5) - Muharem Mahmutefendić (13530645) - Awesome^.-
13 (2/2/3) - Eric Shelden (9890444) - Gisborne Gladiators
12 (2/2/2) - Jarosław Garbos (13624470) - Gisborne Gladiators
12 (1/3/3) - Sven Tragter (16760013) - UWA Panthers
11 (2/2/1) - Jarrod Corica (14844503) - JW City Bulls
11 (1/3/2) - Ilya Pronin (9584114) - Skyhook Dreamers
11 (0/3/5) - Žoržs Vasjuks (9605858) - UWA Panthers

The wildcard voting in the East was extremely tight up until the end. It was up for grabs and kept changing as more votes rolled in. Mahmute who have been brilliant all season as one of the top 3 East MVPs failed to grab a maximum vote. But was consistently good enough to grab second and third place votes from managers to get himself an entry to the East allstars as a wildcard. It would have been blasphemous if he had missed out. While for the final wildcard spot, somehow Sheldon just held on even though the last four managers failed to give him a single vote. As for remaining players who were unlucky not to be named allstar, hopefully their second half of the Fishbowl season could be even better to be recognised and voted as All-Fishbowl first team.

Wildcard: Muharem Mahmutefendić (13530645) - Awesome^.-
Wildcard: Eric Shelden (9890444) - Gisborne Gladiators

WEST ALLSTARS
Managers voted: 11

West Point Guards
32 (10/1/0) - Shaun McArthur (12525988) - Black Label Society
18 (1/6/3) - Hahi bin Awang (9470577) - Lewisham Wombats
5 (0/2/1) - Jaak Vahi (8193047) - Urmummas
4 (0/2/0) - Johnny Dogan (21093777) - Moorditj Magick
3 (0/0/3) - Roman Muggleton (12019535) - Western Titans
2 (0/0/2) - Will Johnson (21092865) - Guanzheng Goldfish
1 (0/0/1) - Barton Melmeth (16765388) - Chelsea Seagulls
1 (0/0/1) - Glen Tidwell (16433409) - Chumunga

McArthur the King of Point Guards. He has been everywhere scoring the needed points, grabbing the boards and dishing the ball to his fellow team mates. The managers couldn't look away from this amazing performance except for maybe one manager who simply just preferred Awang as the best performing point guard in the West. Winks at Mllama. No it wasn't Mllama who gave Awang the three votes. Awang was fantastic as well but just not in the same stratosphere as McArthur. :p

West Point Guard Starter: Shaun McArthur (12525988) - Black Label Society
West Point Guard Backup: Hahi bin Awang (9470577) - Lewisham Wombats

West Shooting Guards
28 (8/2/0) - Xie Guanzheng (11323951) - Guanzheng Goldfish
15 (3/2/2) - Eido Blum (10818726) - Urmummas
11 (0/4/3) - Marcelo Rodríguez (19280995) - Moorditj Magick
5 (0/2/1) - Gary Howorth (12578135) - Black Label Society
5 (0/1/3) - Clinton Abimbola (14845518) - TeamAkuma
1 (0/0/1) - Fu Kuande (6680377) - Slam !
1 (0/0/1) - Rafał Gierkowski (17003806) - Chumunga

Xie without a doubt deserve allstar starter as he dominated the voting for West Shooting Guards. He's been consistently sensational for the Goldfish leading the scoring with an average of over 30 points per game. Blum took the backup spot. The voting might have seemed close but Rodríguez only starting picking up votes pretty late when it was clear Blum had a solid grip over second place.

West Shooting Guard Starter: Xie Guanzheng (11323951) - Guanzheng Goldfish
West Shooting Guard Backup: Eido Blum (10818726) - Urmummas

West Small Forwards
18 (1/7/1) - Marko Sperbert (10748693) - Chelsea Seagulls
16 (4/0/4) - Wazza Kennerley (10657749) - Koopasaurus
16 (3/3/1) - Virgil Wang (18085583) - Guanzheng Goldfish
11 (2/1/3) - Birol Yalduz (10657749) - Lewisham Wombats
4 (1/0/1) - Andrians Helvigs (15003603) - Baxter Bogans
1 (0/0/1) - Gerd Jahe (10951836) - Chumunga

Probably one of the most competitive allstar positions in the entire Fishbowl. Any of the top four deserved an allstar spot but surprisingly Helvigs not as popular as the other four who had a fantastic scoring season so far struggled to get much attention from the managers. As for the top four it came down to the final few votes. Before the final three voters, Birol had a shot of grabbing a Small Forward allstar spot but they went in the favour of Wazza receiving 7 votes, Sperbert with 5 votes, Wang with 5 votes and himself with just 1 vote was knocked out of contention. Sperbert only received the maximum once but consistently the managers voted him as second best and that was enough to get up as top dog. Wazza only tied with the final vote with maximum votes while Wang had nil.

Since it's another tie breaker, I'll need to decide who's backup. Voting wise, both receive similar amount of recognition from the Fishbowl managers and in the MVP votes Wang is just ahead. Looking at the stats itself, Wang clearly had a much better Fishbowl season so far so he gets my vote ahead of Wazza.

West Small Forward Starter: Marko Sperbert (10748693) - Chelsea Seagulls
West Small Forward Backup: Virgil Wang (18085583) - Guanzheng Goldfish

WEST ALLSTARS
Managers voted: 11

West Power Forwards
32 (10/1/0) - Antonio Manfrotto (8078216) - Lewisham Wombats
14 (1/3/5) - Sun Cunming (9471882) - Urmummas
12 (0/4/4) - Gary Lawrance (12019302) - Chelsea Seagulls
6 (0/3/0) - Calixto Delgadillo (4751871) - Slam !
2 (0/0/2) - Nigel Cubby (9441854) - Chumunga

Manfrotto just like McArthur just missed out on perfect votes after a fine first half of the Fishbowl season. Cunming and Lawrance were neck and neck for the backup position and once again the final few votes were critical. The final votes were read out with 3 votes to Manfrotto, 2 votes to Delgadillo and hoping for the final vote, Cunming instead snatches it to end all hopes for a tie breaker.

West Power Forward Starter: Antonio Manfrotto (8078216) - Lewisham Wombats
West Power Forward Backup: Sun Cunming (9471882) - Urmummas

West Centres
22 (5/3/1) - Rãzvan Muresan (8224045) - Slam !
20 (4/3/2) - Olli Krentschker (8052321) - Chelsea Seagulls
9 (0/4/1) - Avner Fishenzon (16745292) - Koopasaurus
8 (1/0/5) - Alexey Berestetskiy (9493156) - Chumunga
5 (1/0/2) - Ky Smeltz (10071569) - TeamAkuma
2 (0/1/0) - Vilimantas Laumianskas (18114753) - Lewisham Wombats

Fish and Berry unluckily had to face off against Wilt and Shaq like numbers. Muresan and Olli were so dominate in the Fishbowl this season that very little separated them in the voting. In the end Muresan prevailed even though Olli is currently the West MVP leader. Time will tell who will end up as the best at the end of the Fishbowl season.

West Centre Starter: Rãzvan Muresan (8224045) - Slam !
West Centre Backup: Olli Krentschker (8052321) - Chelsea Seagulls

West Wildcards
16 (4/0/4) - Wazza Kennerley (10657749) - Koopasaurus
12 (0/4/4) - Gary Lawrance (12019302) - Chelsea Seagulls
11 (2/1/3) - Birol Yalduz (10657749) - Lewisham Wombats
11 (0/4/3) - Marcelo Rodríguez (19280995) - Moorditj Magick

With the voting for the Small Forward position so tight, it wouldn't have been a surprise if both of the Wildcard positions were occupied by Small Forwards. Wazza easily snagged one but the final Wildcard spot belonged to Lawrance. Hot Rod's blazing finish and Yalduz votes been taken away by his fellow rivals meant that it was not enough to challenge Lawrance who so far has been one of the reasons why the Seagulls are in the playoffs berth in the West.

West Wildcard: Wazza Kennerley (10657749) - Koopasaurus
West Wildcard: Gary Lawrance (12019302) - Chelsea Seagulls

Nice work, and congrats to all those who now have allstars!

I managed to give 9 out of 10 of the starters 3 votes - only missed out on Guanzheng, I had Blum ahead of him. Buggered up on a few of the backups though. And I should changed my votes for the SF position (for the record, I didn't give Birol any votes).

Surprised a little by the West SF voting - I felt that Wang and Sperbert were clearly the best two. Had Helvigs next (how did he not get more votes?), probably would have gone Birol next, then Wazza/Phung close together.

I'd give another +1 today if I could. Brilliant work, Whitebeard.

I thought Hot Rod would have a crack at the wildcard...nearly.

Well done to all those managers with allstars.
I'm already excited about next year's...
