My goal is sustainability.. no over-trained players who I can't afford if I drop back, a fairly stable roster from year to year, just a player or two turned over as they age. If I can do that in Div II, then great. I doubt very much I can do it in the NBBA, even if I got there someday, so that's not a big concern. Once I'm happy with my stadium I may look for a single player to boost me in the second half.

Muppet Honey: another interesting bunch. a deeper squad, but with relatively low salaries. however, i'm not sure there are many teams in DII.3 who have quite as many players with double-digit game ratings as the Badgers. by the end of last season she had a squad full of players in the 15 game rating range -- really extraordinary. and remember this is with low salaries. i think Muppet Honey will eventually discover what i did, that at this level, you need some brutes to handle, or at least neutralize, the Trahairs and Goss' monsters so many teams have (see Martinez, above, for a non-C brute). nevertheless, i could see 15 - 16 wins in her first season in DII.

I spent the past couple seasons trying to figure out her secret and failed. That's why she promoted and I'm still a long way from joining her. Or maybe she knows some witchcraft. I heard she visited Salem recently ... Good luck to all of you!

Just pray it doesn't turn into bitchcraft - that's nearly impossible to defeat.

LOL I did visit Salem - over Halloween even. It was a blast! I even have a wand and learned to cast some spells. LOL

But this season I'm just desperately hoping to stick around. If I do that I'll consider it a fantastic success, if not... maybe I'll be relegated to my alma mater and come get you guys again hehehe. Nonetheless, I'm learning and building and purchasing and playing with the game mechanics a bit more too.

i was disappointed when Alonso did not move. when i saw the lineup, i thought you were saving something for the Cup. regardless, i am grateful for the break.

now if Steve can only get diverted by Mata Hari this weekend . . .

we did indeed lose another one last week --

NBBA

DII

DIII
Muppet Honey at Steel Guardians

DIV
Swiss Cheese Defense at Libertines
TheSeattleSuperSonics at ChiTown
Swag City Kings at The Hawks
Lake Merritt at Swag Ballers
Cyborgs at Illinois fighting illini
Planograms at Bruins
Senecaville at National Basketball Academy

DV
Surry Diggers at Eugene
Redbull at Growlers
Tucumcari at Stringers Mill Raptors
Yk3 Warriors at Penlicox
Corn Growers at Atlanta Bombers

For most of us, another week of teams way below us in national rankings and payroll.

But for Muppet Honey -- man, tough draw on the heels of a tough couple of weeks. (but maybe the tide is turning -- Alonso will be sold before the Lake Merritt game . . .)

good luck to one and all, and let us pray the Angel of Injury passes over our league . . .

i screwed up reading the calendar -- thought you played the Badgers Tuesday --

i'd feel sorry for Czarina except i got plenty to feel sorry for about myself -- tonight's fourth quarter against the Bruins was not an experience i want to repeat in this lifetime -- now i know what a "crushing" defeat is ---
