I have failed the English community. I set the dream as winning the world championship, & the target as qualifying for the 2nd round of European qualifying. Todays loss to Serbia sees those goals shattered. /the ladder hasn’t been updated yet, but this is how it finished:

Bosnia w:5 l:1
Serbia w:4 l:2 + 37
England w:4 l:2 + 35
Turkey w:4 l:2 + 32

3 more points today, or 3 less by Serbia would’ve seen us qualify.

We were expecting a CT from Serbia so their higher effort level wasn’t a surprise. That last quarter was torture to watch, with us being into the 2nd round for all but the final few minutes where we couldn’t hit a shot. While it is frustrating playing a majority of the game without your offensive focus due to injury, and falling a few points short of qualifying in the process, I am not going to blame our loss today on Paris playing 13 minutes as it doesn’t change the final result, and the only thing it achieves is increasing the frustration I am feeling right now

We move onto the consolation tournament, which is no consolation at all compared to where we want to be, but we will go as far as we can. It will be good next season to add a couple of the current u21’s who will play a vital role in strengthening the current team.

I apologise again for letting you down, but we still have work to do with a fresh batch of draftees being created in a couple of months to scout through & updates of tracked players required for the future of the England NT.

The difference was the effort level which is not reflected in the team ratings.

You went 4-2 and lost out on friggin' PD.

I notice they put in more effort into the game. Would it have cost England anything to CT that one or were you just thinking that you should be able to get by with normal?

There is no enthusiasm reset before the 2nd round so it while we may have qualified, it would've been embarassing in the next round going in with little to none enthusiasm. We were a bees dick away as it stands.

You play at home, you can get away with a close loss, no way I'd CT that match. Waggyrob made the right call.

I believe that there is more responsibility with the national team players owners. I am myself among the guilty. We should have made an extra effort to guarantee the players better game shape... We should have been able to have everyone at very least on strong...

8 times out of 10 i reckon we win that sim against Serbia, respectable gameshape is borderline good enough to carry and anything higher is a bonus. In close games it makes a legendary (haha) difference

Bad luck there. To miss out by so narrow a margin is very unlucky...but I have high hopes for next season and the consolation tournament.

I have a fair bit of prepeperation to do before the season ends, if there is anyone interested in helping scout next seasons rookies please either reply here or BB-mail me, I will keep a list & we can split the leagues up when the draft is complete to quicken the process.

Also, if there are any wannabe NT trainers please send me a BB-mail with what position you want to train. (to those that i contacted earlier in the season dont worry i havent forgotten about you & will hook you up with options after the draft scouting is complete).

Unrelated... but I notice our waggyrob made it to the semis of the USA Cup!

He's got HCA, so perhaps we'll congrat him on the final as well!
