And ditto for me, I know the draft is suppose to be hit and miss, but for me it seems too much miss. Even after spending $ on scouting last year and choosing a player which was supposedly a good player and high potential I ended up with 'only' starter potential :(

And I checked the TL earlier and there were only 13 Australian players 20 or under available, and realisticly only 2 you might consider for the U21 team, so it's not like you can go buying young Aussie players so we know where they are, they just aren't around.

i think the problem is partly to the best young aussies either going to bots or non active users and thus missing out on trainning. and are not put on the transfer list for more active aussie users to buy. for example i was looking through some drafts the other day and came across this guy 8158061 who i belive had NT potential but doesnt seem to be reciving training.

Regarding the game last night against Hong Kong in which we were comfortably beaten.

I take an intrest because i have a player in the squad.

Firstly, i dont won't this to come across as having a go at Hadders.

My concern is that the Starting 5 seems to get picked on salary alone going by last nights game.

The starting 5 consisted of Pearshouse/Chalmers/Swain/Hargrave & Bana.

The game shape of those 5 players are STRONG/Average/Average/Strong & Respectable.

There was a possible line-up of 2xProficient & 3xStrong.

Don't have any problem with tactics, i think Hadders is quite capable.

Which is the best way to go to win games? Salary or Game Shape.

Would like to here what people think.

P.S- The possible line-up i mentioned on game shape doesn't include my player (Hendy) even though he has proficient GS at the moment and wasn't even a back-up or reserve for last nights game.

I think we need a list of managers that are interested in training up players that have U/21 capabilities and then NT potential down the track. Also if we had details of what sort of training plan they had in mind for there team so we could get some sort of an idea of what direction their players are heading in.

I am in the position to add a guy at the end of this season but i am training G's with a preference of giving them high OD ratings and general all round skills rather than them becoming single skill monsters. I currently have a couple of younger guys i would gladly sell off to add an aussie trainee. If i draft a big guy that is decent i will happily sell him at an Australian friendly time so that he can go to another NT trainer.

I am relatively new to BB but am constantly chatting to C-Cat about what's going on at NT level and i think i can add something to the teams plans down the line with my defensive emphasis.

I am planning to train young Aussie riders. Depends what I get in the draft. I choose to let luck determine my team.

Its good to see another Defensive minded coach. Maybe Australia's U21s will be the defensive team to watch out for.

Gotta love defence. I hope my young ones can become gun defenders. Couple more seasons. Just wondering Hadders who are the top young players for Australia? I wanna see where my youth stand to like of Dondon and etc? Cheers

Sadly the defence of the current U21 team is lacking to say the least.

I can not post up actual player ratings.

Minty, I pick the side on a combination of Salary, Game Shape and DMI.

You can imagine that the high salaries have higher attributes and regardless of game shape, these attributes shine through.

I was close to putting Hendy in the team. He is in the top five of game shape and DMI.

Managing the team has been difficult this season. I know im a good manager (my team is in the grand final of the tournament this week), but the U21 team is not getting any stabilty.

Game shape is all over the shop, players are constantly changing hands (check out the team, two are currently up for sale) and managers are not training what I am requesting them to train.

I am happy to reply to these discussions at any time and look forward to explaining my actions/decisions.

Hey Hadders,

Presistence is the key.

I dont think DMI really has any effect at all on how a player plays and I beleive it is useless at any point besides the start of the season.

managers are not training what I am requesting them to train.

I think this is wrong. You cannot request managers to train their players a certain way but rather guide the managers when they ask for help and offer support. Managers are gonna train their players that best benefit their team not the national team.

Also one other question. I think it was C-Cat that put it forward was that when the draft comes around, identify the very best players that are drafted to inactive teams and place them on the team. So when they the team turns bot the player will be put on the TL. For example that Essa player (7971517) on the Canadian NT. I was just thinking what your opinion was about doing this?

Smart idea J-Dog. Very crucial for the u-21 team to keep decent draft prospects in the game.
