I have a great disdain for the Celtics but I believe we may be looking at only part of the picture. Rondo the past few years has been maturing but the reason he is so effective is not necessarily his "talent" (not saying he is not talented) but it is the threat of Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Most teams up to this point (people are now waking up) have come into the game and are saying we need to stop the long ball "don't let Allen shoot, don't leave Pierce open, watch out for Garnett. This is the first season he is making people pay for paying him no attention. Sooo I think it is a maturing Rondo, I believe some of his accolades are deserved I think others are undeserved but for what it is worth I would put him in the top 10 PG's this particular season. His top FG % is because 80% of his shots are layups--nothing wrong with that but I don't believe he will be a top 5 PG until he develops a jump shot past 18 ft. Bottom line is this a whole lot of coaches woke up and said we need to figure out a way to stop Rondo!

That's probably the most correct assesment of rondo, even though i hate to admit it.

10 pgs better than rondo in my opinion (in no particular order besides that all 10 are higher than rondo):
1. Deron Williams
2. Chris Paul
3. D Rose
4. C Billups
5. Steve Nash
6. Russell Westbrook
7. Aaron Brooks
8. Tyreke Evans (Stephen Curry) (BJen)
9. Jason Kidd
10. Gilbert Arenas (if he's not in jail)

I would rather have any of these pgs leading my team. (I would rather have rondo than Kidd now, but not when Kidd was younger.) I put the three rookies there because those are all top fucking notch players. I might even add Darren Collison in there, he was great at UCLA and really stepped up in Chris Paul's absense.

But did any of those guys have the pressure Rondo did/does as a young player?

He was basically handed the keys to a Ferrari and told not to crash it.... He has shown he can be with seasoned veterans and guide them to win.. PLUS.. how many of the above mentioned PG's have rings.. in the NBA that is one of the main, if not THE main factor for greatness.

Does that make Derek Fisher 4x better than Rondo? And then I assume, you MUST put Tony Parker ahead of Rondo.

You shouldnt assume what I mean. I never said he was better, dont put words in my mouth.

"Greatness" in the NBA is measures between the have and have nots.. not the number of titles.

So by YOUR logic, Rondo would wouldnt be better than any of those guys because he has only one 1 championship,
The number one times anything is still the same number.

yes but 1 is higher than 0.

Having a championship does not make you a better player, Lebron the best player in the league has 0.

I'm, sure anyone one of those guys I named would have also won a championship had they been on the celtics in the 07-08 season. The metaphor with the keys to the ferrari is not a very accurate one. I would say its more like a race with team members. You have 3 of the best racers on your team and only 1 of you needs to come in first for you to all win so don't worry about the finish yourself just make it easier for the other 3 to get to the end by pestering the other team.

This not in in support of the Fisher statement, but I'm voting for Kobe as the best player in the league right now. I know LeBron is special and a freakish athlete, but Kobe flat out wins. His performance last night was unreal. Don't get me wrong, I hate the Lakers. Iin fact as a die-hard Blazer fan I was born this way. Its my destiny to hate the Lakers. But I have to respect Kobe. And he is far better defensively, and has a far better understanding of the game offensively, than LeBron does.

Hey Tachenko!

There was no need to hurt Mina. None whatsoever. I told my boys to take it easy and they went and roughed him up.

Now I get to face Broncos in a game that is without a doubt the most important game of my season without my best player.

Looks like its D IV for me next season.

All right guys, it's time to divert our attention to D III.4. Stern's NBA is a joke and Le Bron looks more like a clown than the king.

Gavno is having hard times and risk the top seed in Great 8. Dutchmen finally learning to win games by losing close game after close game, 88-81. Gavno played with the regulars and didn't put less than Dutchmen and these facts make things much more interesting. Hutson who scored 39 for Dutchmen tonight, is having a perfect season.

Illusion can't be any happier. They took care of Cleveland and reduced the gap with Gavno down to 2 games, 99-118. Cleveland benched German and TIE'd. When Barr hits the shots and Statovici collects the rebounds, it's just the perfect world for Illusion.

Investors didn't risk their superstar Carmona at Indianapolis. Hawks managed to win 4th straight without injured Foote, 102-66.

Bangers @ Magic was easily the most exciting game of the night. This great game between two unpredictable yet solid teams was decided in OT. Magic couldn't find a solution to stop Beavers, 124-127. This is huge win for Bangers in their playoff race.

Just a few days ago when they lost Mayagoitta, playoffs was a remote possibility for Tachenko but they beat Steppers and improve their record to 8-7, 120-82. Jensen replaced Mayagoitta in PF position and he was brilliant with 13 pts and 16 rbds. Steppers don't have a problem with a road loss where they TIE'd. The real problem is losing Mina for next couple of weeks. (injured calf)

Flyers are on a roll. They beat Broncos with a dominating performance in the paint, 113-92.

Goats return Chicago with a nice win over Traficcers, 60-72. Trafficers have big problems in offensive end and this game was just another example of their offensive struggles. They will have to win 3 of remaining 7 games to avoid automatic relegation. (one will be against Pistons)

It was Armageddons turn to pretend like they will have a game and wait for their opponents on the court. The win over Pistons puts them in 6th place. Funny thing was 6264 fans bought tickets for that game. They have protested management for moving the team and the coach for not bothering to put a line up on the court.

Interleague play is over. Although Big 8 looks stronger, Great 8ears did clearly better than most expected.

Player of the day was Adrian Beavers of the Bangers, 34 pts, 19 rbds, 4 asts. After staying on the court for 53 mins he was sent back to hotel with an ambulance.

Games of the Saturday are, Steppers @ Broncos (must win for both teams especially Broncos) and Gavno @ Investors.

Up by 12 going in the 4th, and we blow the lead? Then lose by 3 in OT? At home?

Starting to feel like the real Magic here.

How come the POD is always on the team that plays against me?
