Lower down teams do not always train for the top teams, they develop many trainees for themselves and take those trainees to the top with them. That is why talking about promotion is relevant to your argument, and where there is promotion there is also relegation.

Also, College teams cannot keep their players for the lifetimes of their careers, after their college days are over the player must move on. So you cannot equate lower division teams with college teams.

Top teams may also develop their own players from scratch just as lower teams do.

And I'll just reiterate I still don't understand why you made that (incorrect) point in the first place. So maybe you can tell me why (the hell) you raised it in a debate over the pros and cons of one or two position training.

When i say trainee youngster i mean an 18 or 19 year old i should of clarified that. Yes by 21/22 a trainee would be far enough advanced that they wouldn't hinder team performance like an 18 or 19 year old.

to be honest...the main idea is that teams from lower divisions train players and when they become too expensive for the team to afford they will be sold to a higher team...so for example a player starts training at 18 year old on a IV Div... with correct training at the age of 20-21 could (or should) be sold to a higher team (taking into account that not all teams manage to get promoted , so some times the wages become unaffordable) ... that's the main idea....on the other hand..each team on high divisions could at least traing 1-2 players , getting their 48 mins on the scrimmages or early cup games

Any highly ranked team who plays even one rookie is going to risk losing games they don't need to.

Is that so? I suppose then (in your world) the highly ranked teams are selling any MVP+ draftee they get because they can't train them.

Could that have something to do with it?

What are you asking me for? You're the one giving the advice, telling me I must
Think of all non-D1 teams as an enormous developmental league for the top teams. (Sort of like college basketball in the US.)
