I was referring to your example of listing at zero and then bidding all the money a team has on its worst player. Isn't that the very definition of 'artificial' in this contest?

Erm, I am a bit confused as to where this discussion is leading. The post by JuicePats a bit up says just about everything that needs to be said about this policy.

Not Quite!!

i probably tried to impress a woman and i did bet on 3 players

Ha ha ha ha

Looks like we havedifferent strategies in this area as well!!!!!!!!

PS that was not from you I know - CITB!!

We're essentially eliminating the chance that someone could argue that they didn't know the rules.

If they didn't know the rules after seeing that text, they're screwed.

first: CitB realy made me laugh, we definately need more posts like these

then, JuicePats, I think we all can clearly see the reason, and the reason is good.
But that does not have to mean we like it.

As I sugested you could add a piece of text with every sign up that they should read the rules, and that they are susceptable to penalties if they do something that is against the rules. If they do not read them, it's their own fault...

With this 1 simple and 1-time add-on BB takes care of it all.

The funny post from CitB was funny, and made me laugh, but in the end he hits the right spot. BB can't go warning players at all kinds of places for all kinds of things that could be done wrong. The site would look horrible.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

This won't break the game.

First point: if you are arguing that people who are unwilling to take the time to find out how much players of a certain type sell for and as a result decide to overpay for certain players are being victimised, then I argue that they are victimising themselves by not making the effort to find out what players sell for.

As for the second, rather hysterical, point, this is paranoia being taken to extremes. I find it hard to believe that any player is willing to massively overpay for a player - risking being fined or banned in the process - just to see an opponent lose money through a fine for selling that player for too much.

As our erstwhile GM states, this warning serves to prevent players claiming ignorance of the rules. These rules have existed since the beginning of the game: they are not new.

Couldn't have summed it up better. Well put

Just a little clarification for everyone: there is no "tool" for detecting overpriced transfers. Every transfer that is deemed overpriced has been done so by a GM or a BB. We have an effective system of review for these cases. If you're playing honestly you have nothing to worry about.

well i will purchase a player

my first player

where i can go to see to watch and to read or to listen how much is a player overpriced?

if i'm interested in a 3,000 salary player 18 yo playing as small Forward and i put a 300,000 offer for him there's any chance to know if it is overpriced without been loking the transfermaket for 2-3 months?

and how i can see the final bids for players i was interested in if i no longer have the links or player's numbers anywhere of the page? i need to put the links on a TXT file?

could be interesting to do an historial for losing bids or something like this, each manager will get his own transferlist to compare...

by the way there's a big problem here, and honesty is not a factor to be worryed about. Just you can be a very Honest Man and i will let to buy one of your guys for 1,000,000 and let the both teams banned.

In this forum is the Player Valuation thread. Ask in there.

That sounds like a very good idea. The work of a few seconds. Perhaps it's something the programmers of BuzzerBeater Scout and Assist could work into their programs.

Just you can be a very Honest Man and i will let to buy one of your guys for 1,000,000 and let the both teams banned.

When do you propose to have $1,000,000? Let me know and I'll sell you my best player. Judging by the transfer market right now, he'd fetch somewhere near that price.

Anyway, this idea of yours that anybody would want to bankrupt their team just to get another player fined is beyond preposterous. Do you really expect it happen? Do you seriously believe that it is better to change the rules regarding over-priced transfers just to prevent the one in a million chance that a malicious player would take the course of action you have imagined?

You can always review current bids on similar players.

if i'm interested in a 3,000 salary player 18 yo playing as small Forward and i put a 300,000 offer for him there's any chance to know if it is overpriced without been loking the transfermaket for 2-3 months?

For the 18 millionth time, we're talking about grossly overpriced bids. Not, in most cases, overages 50k or even 100k .

and how i can see the final bids for players i was interested in if i no longer have the links or player's numbers anywhere of the page? i need to put the links on a TXT file?

TXT file works. Supporters can use bookmarks. I do wish players whom you have previously bid on would remain in a recent bids section after they were sold.

by the way there's a big problem here, and honesty is not a factor to be worryed about. Just you can be a very Honest Man and i will let to buy one of your guys for 1,000,000 and let the both teams banned.

That's more than a little far fetched.
