Don't worry, Zinga, becoming champions of this League is still a two season proposition. However, there is no need, at this stage, to sell everyone and tank. In fact, since the boys convinced me to keep going I have made two changes to my team. I swapped one SF for another and then a C for a PF. Both changes have improved my team slightly. Mind you, I say two seasons but...

...my rookies are coming along nicely. Anything is possible next season I suppose.

Well, I really liked what I saw in my loss to the Ozzy Roasters tonight. They had HCA and they fielded their best team. I played my 5 starters as backups and my 5 backups as starters, saving my big guns for Tuesday night. The good news is that the Roasters only won by 13 points. The Magick is looking good. The two new acquisitions have slotted in nicely.

Well done to those of you who had wins tonight.

Looks like my prediction of the XBBL being a threat to you, Urmummas has eventuated. Mind you, they put more effort into the game while you had HCA. Interesting. Great SG match-up.

Well done Matt, although you took the L today but certainly you have your team building up for the play-offs. As looking at the game results tonight i found that almost all the team from our conference won the game, LOL

I would say in response to your previous post that i didn't go against the decision you have made and the suggestions given by your mentors. of course as i mentioned everyone would have played in their own style, and in particular what you're doning now is what i would do for my team too, it's kind of just my preferred option as to some other teams stacking imports to try push their team upwards, which i thought that's what they were suggesting you to do, but after i looked at your roster i proved myself wrong :P. sure i wouldn't even know if what i said before and here is correct as i have such little experience and achievement in this game. i really appreciate getting advises rather than myself giving some dodgy suggestions here LOL,

you would know what im talking about. i look forward to your suggestions :D

Tanking goes against my nature. While I think there is definately a time and a place to tank, there needs to be a purpose for tanking. As my friends pointed out, tanking is fine if your looking to dwell at the bottom of the ladder to snare the best draft pick. I did this last season as snared that awesome draft pick. Tanking when your team is okay in the league isn't often necessary however. This is what was pointed out to me; that my team isn't great but it isn't bad either. It is a team, that with some minor adjustaments before the playoffs, could get lucky and do well. Of course, I realistically don't think I have the personel at present to stop Urmummas who I see as the team to beat despite their loss tonight. Having said that, and as these same friends and mentors pointed out, the Urmummas aren't hugely superior to my team either. So, the question is: can I stay in the playoff hunt? Yes, I can. Can I make the semi's? Yes, I can. Can I make the grand final? Unlikely, but stranger things have happened. It only takes an injury to a crucial player at the wrong moment to change a team's season.

By the way, Zinga, a great win for you tonight.

LOL!!! Nice, Bilbo...talk about getting value for money from a player!

I'm still unsure how the hell my centre missed out on being selected. I would say that, Vukolic, is arguably the best C our league. I can only assume that his lack of league games this season or perhaps his GS (Strong) were factors. Or perhaps his age!

Congrats to those who had a player(s) play in the ASG.

In other news, the highlight of my week given the lack of players playing in the ASG was to play a scrimmage tonight against good friend, work colleague and Fishbowl team mate. Given that he managed to play a couple of his big guns and I had all my starters playing few minutes off the bench, the 35 point loss wasn't too bad to such a strong Aussie team.

WOW! Did anyone catch the game tonight between the HawthornFC and XBB? What a game. The Hawks took a 16 point lead into the final quarter only to see XBB pile on 33 points to the Hawks 17 to send the game into overtime. With HCA, the XBB made great use of the home crowd draing a 3pt shot to open the fifth quarter. THe teams exchanged baskets briefly before the XBB started to punish the Hawks in the second half of the alotted 5 minute quarter. Incredibly, the XBB piled on 24 points in 5 minutes to steal a memorable win! The final score: 113 - 106.

I should note that I was barracking for the Hawks. If they had won I would have had a 1-game break over XBB in 2nd spot. I now only hold 2nd spot by percentage. It's shaping up to be a exciting finals series with XBB and myself almost certain to meet in the QF.

LOL, just noticed the XBB only got 5 players the whole game, a great comeback as to the expense of a lot of stamina. Great Effort.

I missed out on my game due to a gathering tonight, just got back and saw the result of my game. Well a disappointed result but also an expected one. with my team on CTD tonight i was trying to test where my team can go against one of the top team in this league. The team did well after the first three quarters evening the score up before completely blown away in the forths. Good effort to my boys.

Just gonna state here that with the lost tonight my team should be nothing for you on Tuesday :D

But dont you think with the team i have now it would be enough for me to stay in this league?

Firstly, in regards to our game, anything is possible. You have HCA which will give you about 8-10 extra points. I must be honest and say that given that you have just used CT in your last game, and that I have the highest possible enthusiasm possible, I should win comfortably. Of course, getting the right tactics will help you.

Secondly, your team is better balanced and I would suggest that if you can make it through the relegation playoffs at the end of the season you can build on the team you have and remain in this Division.

Good luck in our game.

PS. My advice: TIE those games you know you can't win. Play your hardest (Normal) when you play against Miami and The wigs and try and steal one or two wins and hope they don't get anymore wins themselves. To be honest, you will be fighting to stay out of 8th. THe other option is to TIE every game and try and CT the last one or two to steal the wins that way...however, looking at your scheduale you are probably better off trying the first method (playing hard against those on the same win/loss record as you).

Good luck.

LOL good analysis Matty. I have confidence in my team and looking at my conference i think i won't be the 8th team (In this case it would most likely be Miami). So as the result I would play the relegation match and since your conference is less dodgy (i mean nothing here but the race for the spot to stay in this league), it would most likely for me to meet with Get Real or LA Netters, looking at their rosters right now it should not be too hard for my team. Of course anything will change if they import new players at the end of this season.

oh a question i want to ask, what does HCA stands for?

Cheers and good luck!
