The offsite forums used to be kicking a few seasons back. Direwolf and co had a mentor program installed that would help managers get started with their arenas and trainees etc. Speaking of which this was how I started to become the manager I am today, I found the link to the offsite forums in my league forums. It may be a good idea to get our very own GM-Monkeybiz to sticky some topics in leagues so that when a new manager goes to complete their checklist it is the first thing that pops up in their forum.

Despite what you may think, an U21 and NT coach have very limited power when it comes to mass media on the forums, that's why we'll need to suck up to Monkeybiz

So, here is my question:

How are you going to advice managers at training their rookies? We all know it's impossible to complete the training of a high potential player in 4 seasons. Therefore you have to make some decision about what to focus on in order to be more useful to the team.

For the past seasons, Australia relied on a good crop of guards. Is it time to reshape the training programm and go for motion instead of look inside?

To be honest I'd really like a flexible team, one that can adept to most situations. For example I'd like to be able to have multiple offenses instead of just relying on one. That way if there are any gameshape or injury discrepancies we won't be screwed.

Having a few different skill set moulds for different positions would be beneficial to not only the U21 but the managers, who may choose a mould that would be suit their team whilst still maintaining the best possible chance to represent the U21 National team.

Oh and some good passing on our bigs.

They're just not as sticky as when the Aussie GM does it, I'm afraid.

Leeroy - you may have answered this already, so I apologise - if not, then good. How long are you planning on coaching for, and are you planning on grooming a successor in the last season or two of your reign to step into your shoes so that we have some continuity?

Hello RabidCamel.

I haven't really thought how long I'd like to be in the job for, but as far as a successor is concerned. Tremell has expressed his interest in working alongside me in the role so I'd imagine if it all goes well he would be next in line to take the job. Much like Iwen has done with myself.

There is a LONG tradition in Australia, and I did it in India as well, of giving the coach two terms, that is four seasons. That way they get to follow their first 18 year old rookies all the way until they are 21 year old stars and can actively mould the sort of team that they want rather than the one that they have just been given. So unless Leeroy screws it up I would be for giving him the same deal with a view towards tremell then being the next.

Hello,

I'd like to take this time to announce my candidacy for the U21NT manager position. I've been playing this game since Season 3 in the American leagues then moved back to Australia where i've been playing since Season 12. I have the experience.

I decided to run because of all this talk of succession plans and 'rigged' elections by a 'click' of managers. If you're not in the 'click', vote for me. If your not happy with the tactics chosen by the previous manager and he's cronies, who now run, vote for me. If you want to stop a group of managers trying to rig elections, vote for me. If you want a regime change, vote for me.

Please Vote for silo1978, " A better way"

silo1978

I am glad there is another candidate. It is backup in case something goes wrong. I hope you vote for yourself and get at least one vote in case Leeroy is hit by a train and dies. If you have been playing since season three then you are very experienced. Why have't you contributed your experience to help the Aussie community before?

But I will inform you about some factual errors in your speech.

There is a sucession plan. What is wrong with that? In fact if we didn't have a plan I think something would e wrong. Being organised and planning long term are what this game is all about.

There is no rigged election. Every manager gets one vote. It is totally fair. If more people think you will be a good candidate then you will win. Simple.

Are we in a 'click' or a clique? Maybe or maybe not. Some of us that you accuse of being in this clique are fierce rivals on BB. Some of us have has vicious arguments with each other. Some of us do not like each other at all. But this so called clique has something in common, we are the players who have contributed to and shown interest in the national teams. It is not a very exclusive clique. Anyone can join. We have never excluded anyone, even Fanny or Crazy Australian. So as cliques go it is rather uncliquey.

While I respect Iwen I was not always happy with his tactics but I can't argue with the results. Runners up in the Asian championships and only missed out on winning due to an injury. Seeing tremell and I are ABBL and Iwen is II and Leeroy is III shouldn't they be our cronies? But the fact is we don't and can't tell eachother what to do. If Iwen or Leeroy gave me an order I would tell them to stick it. If they suggested I train my PG in passing for the good of the team I would take that suggestion on board and it would increase the chance that I would do that.

I am glad that you are running but your speech shows ignorance of the true situation and I would suggest that a NT manager needs to check his facts before making a big mistake.
