I must have missed the season you went neck and neck with Sharman and Torooo for the B3 crowns.
What?
For posterity, I was 1-0 against Toroooooo and am 2-1 against Sharman ( one was a 25-0 walkover in last year's B3). Oh, and although I have never done well in the B3, I believe I was the first to suggest it:
(22182.1) Had I known what a strange direction it would take the game, I probably would have kept my mouth shut...
My point is that you started in a league with 8 humans the first year, that musta been horribly competitive. I7m sure that each season as more users joined, like today there were user guides for everyone to help them jump in and challenge you right away, there is absolutely no benefit or use to being in a small nation and being one of the very first ever to play the game, in no way does that allow you to win without cutting corners.
What?
Of those that are in your position you ahve a choice, enjoy the game in your own way or do whatever it takes to try to be the very best. Take sharman as an example of a dude who did whatever it took to win (well he did a few quirky things, and sucked as a trainer) including daytrading, player renting, you name it.
Exactly. I have neither the time nor energy nor desire nor the $$$ to win the B3. For the record, I suck as a trainer as well. Until about season 10 I often trained 3 position and team.
My point is that these tricks work, or people wouldn't use them. If I was the only guy in the entire BB universe doing all things 'horrible' things you accuse me of, then you could call me crazy. If all the people who did these things were losing, you could call me crazy. I watch the top teams, I read the forums and guides. I make suggestions that some things that work shouldN't. Thats all.
Did I ever call any of those things horrible? And stating facts is not accusing. Ease off on the loaded vocabulary. Time and again I have said do what floats your boat. My point is you don't have to do those things to be successful and that having multiple strategies that can be successful is a positive thing. I don't really read the guides (although I have read the rules several times) and I skim the forums. If every team does these things, that means that 15 out of 16 that are doing them are losing each season, does it not? Or by winning, do you mean winning the B3? Because if that's the case, then only 12 out of all the teams ever are losing. San Bruno Club, who just spanked me in the B3, has 17 players on his team. He hasn't daytraded or rented players, so there's another example of success without using the 'tricks' you think everybody uses. I'm pretty sure JosefKa doesn't use them, and he has an Austrian Cup title (although it took him forever to get it...). Josef is an example of someone following a wholly unique path to a title. The best player in the game and middling supporting players. Sure it is an easier path to do what everyone else does, but it's not the only one.
