what the game really needs if a "group demo" for potential, not initial skill level. high potential can only be discovered by spending 2 pts (10k) per player, so no one in their right mind will ever do this for all the draftees. even then you would have only found the 08 MVP+ prospects (if any). there is no guarantee a 09 or 10 pot player is in your draft, in fact the odds are highly against it

since the odds are so low to find a high potential draftee (whether spending money on the draft or not) I can understand why many managers just save their draft money and look in the marketplace instead

I completly agree with Manon. I always have a late pick, but the draft just makes the game interesting. I cannot resist investing. Four of my outside players are draftees. I enjoy watching them grow. I also have my fingers crossed, and can't wait to see what players I am going to get.

I also agree. It was a difficult choice to invest $0 for the whole year this year, but for the direction of my team it made sense. I very much look forward to next year's draft where I (99%) won't be picking last in the 1st round.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Unless you desperately need every cent
if you really think next season is best shot in draft
cheaper to carry over some points from this season
you might need more than you think

I guess the only reason they do not let you purchase all your draft points at the end of the season is that clubs who do not know any better would be tempted to bankrupt themselves, even to the point of interviewing every player in the draft for 10k = 480k potentially spent for nothing unless there is actually talent in the draft for your league and you are able to draft before someone else picks who you want
