Dude, all it does is increase the scouting task for the next guy. Fair enough if you believe it's 'standard procedure'... perhaps for your next gig (wherever that may be), you might rethink this one.

I want to ensure You that it doesn't increase job for next coach, information about these players didn't disappear. Empty slots are needed for scouting and it's only helpful.
In Poland every season I started with empty roster because it isn't problem. You can check for example that at this moment Poland U21 Team is almost empty and all the best players are out of Poland NT, only deep backup players are in roster. And I'm sure many of top NT's are currently without best players or even without any players.
