The fishbowl has been stagnant or even declined in the last 3-4 seasons due to rapid expansion. We thought that expanding would lead to a more active and interesting private league but really it diversed all the active teams into different federations. So instead of 2 really fun and interesting feds, it led to 4 average at most federations. Of course the calamari would deny this and claim that their fed has 10k posts per day.

This is not only happening in the fishbowl but also in the world stage, the BBB, where the top ranked teams around world play in one private league similar to what the Fishbowl tried to emulate. Several season ago there would up to 6 PL's in the BBB but now there seems to be only 2 PL's running. The decline is due to mismanagement or disinterest/staleness.

I agree that we should have 2 fed's and 1 PL. If it meant we have a 16 team PL, then its something we should consider.

17 interested teams already and I doubt there has been time for everyone to see. I don't think two divisions is bad and I do think a 15 week PL that then has finals as well is really long. I would much rather see two 10 team leagues and I think a lot of the division III teams would probably prefer that too. Then again Akuma is now the boss so I am more than happy to let him run the show. I agree too much expansion can be a problem and maybe back to two Federations (if we need them at all?) is better than having a soulless empty one.

I agree with you Koop - I even experienced it myself. At one point I think we had 3 or 4 PLs going?? North South East West??

The Fishbowl grew far too big for its own good. There is a huge amount of effort involved in setting up and running 4 PLs in parallel, as I'm sure Yoda would know. And for what benefit? The banter between teams, the competitiveness between federations died down because it was diluted. If I'm in the North league, I really couldn't care less about what's going on in the East our South.

There was also some incessent whining and moaning about how the leagues were run, etc. which made things a little less fun.

Let's get back to basics. Let's get back to how it used to be when it was fun. Let's fire up the old rivalry. Sharks vs Calamari. Let's do things because they're fun, not because we have to.

There are 17 teams that have signed up, but of those, I've noted a number of teams have said they'll play "to make up the numbers" rather than saying "yes i want to play." If we get enough participants to form 1 active league, I would prefer to do that rather than have 2 leagues comprised of several teams that are in just to make up the numbers.

I know this will create a league where ABBLers will be facing off Div 3 players, but lets instigate a handicap system (by points) to make life a little tougher for our ABBLers.

@Akuma...while I always want to play in the Fishbowl, and am happy to do so, everyone would have to accept that I only have 2 solid guards and nothing else. I'm sure some managers will see my participation as pointless. So, yes, while I'd like to play, it is better that I don't to be fair.

If you are going to have 2 leagues and need more teams I will try sort out my supporter and play. But if you go the 1 league route, don't worry about me

Razor and Bainsy make 19 teams and I am sure over the weekend there will be some more. Bainsy and Matty have made great contributions over the seasons and it would be a pity to leave them out. Two federations and two leagues sounds great to me and not out of control, but I am not the boss...hooray!

Hmm...theres a slight chance i might tank depending on how my team goes :) so not sure yet
