I can't give an excuse for my failure with opposition scout. I made a commitment to Sleet, and then I failed him, and the offsite with my lack of commitment. One of my biggest regrets playing BB, and I knew if I was to run it would be my biggest obstacle to overcome.

As for my commitment to the NT? For 15 seasons I've been on the offsite, scouting, offering advice, following training diaries, and following gameplanning threads. There are times where I've cared more about the future U21 guys than my own club, and in 15 seasons there has not been one time I haven't had a legit U21 candidate on my roster. Sure I could have bought better prospects from other countries, but I splurged on the US guys because it just makes the game 10x better to have a prospect that the offsite is excited about.

I made an egregious mistake in failing to live up to my commitment to Sleet. And for that I'm sorry. But you won't ever have to worry about how committed I am to the U21. It's been my BB goal to be the U21 manager for over a dozen seasons. I believe this season it is my turn.

Everyone knows that international athletics are extremely corrupt (I'm looking at you FIFA and the IOC). If I buy you suporter will you put my player on the team even if he's only 18 and not ready?

An ideal 13/13/13/13 inside skill big man may end up being too unspecialized to excel. Would having two big men that are unbalanced be better for the U21 team?

Ill jump in on thi if I may. I think it is much better to have two unbalanced bigs. That is why there are players categorized as a PF and some that are categorized as a Center. I feel like the U21 NT would be much better if our PF was a bigger offensive threat (meaning there would be less time spent on defensive and rebounding skills) and then the center can have slightly less offensive skills and pick it up on the defensive and rebounding side. LI is more efficient with a PF who is shaped like an actual PF, instead of a Center that we are forcing to play PF.

Yes, in all reality we are going to have bigs with all the same skills. Some will be better scoring, some will be better rebounding, and some will be better defensively. While that was my "ideal" it won't be what we see on the team. Currently very few people are unwilling to train SBing that high so we won't see many of those bigs. I'm not going to look for players that strictly match that skillset either. Ill go in looking for the BEST players at the time. I will have other ways to break it down of course, like American owned, GS history, and game necessitys. I hope this answers your question Jelme.

Another random tidbit, but I'm also a much bigger believer in rebounding than most other people. It can keep you in games you have no business being in. I think the benefit it has on your club is greater than the extra salary it carries.

Carry on.

A bit off-topic, but I just want to say I am a huge fan of Princeton, and it can really work at the club level. More clubs should experiment with this, because it was easily my best offense for my U21 player Otto Reedy to play in.

Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. What is this Princeton you speak of?

I absolutely hate losing and will do anything it takes to win. I trained a very good guard in Jonathan Yi that was a key contributed to Magiker's first season as U21 manager as well

He's contributed to a lot of fine seasons for me too. Can we get an assurance from you that you won't let our U21 players go to other countries and then come back and single-handedly torch us in a key game? ;)

If you have a dominant PG use it. It's the tactic that worked best with Reedy as my PG.

Interesting, I've noticed it's more dependent on how your bigs' secondaries are rather than a PG.

My bigs do have awesome secondaries, so you are perhaps right, but I believe I led II.3 in 3p%, and I had no shooters at all on my roster, and the only logical explanation for me is that Reedy thrived in the slow pace and set everyone up.
