I think alot of it is relative to the OD you are facing. If your big has 10 JS against 5 OD thats a huge advantage. Difference between guards js/jr and od is usually much shorter.

Where I absolutely 100% agree is the fact with the contested vs free shots. I'd have rather my C take a contested shot then my SG a free one, which is completely unrealistic and utter nonsense.

Absolutely. And this applies to jump shots too, although I think big men tend to hit a decent percentage on their open jump shots relative to what a guard would (which may just be selective memory).

I kind of am at the point of hoping my guards take contested threes rather than open ones, too. I'm going to have to go through and run stats at some point, but I think I'm actually seeing them shoot better now on contested threes vs. open ones. I need to get my trainees' defense sorted out in the next few seasons so I can start playing at a more competitive level to have any really relevant info, though.

You know DeAndre gets 4 time as much as crawford. In BB Crawford would make 10 times what Deandre makes.

This isn't really a fair comparison. Deandre is in his prime and considered one of the best defenders in the NBA. Crawford is 36 and while he's a great scorer off the bench, he's definitely not among the NBA's best scorers. Also, if we were to convert these guys to BB players, there is no way a 36yo guard who's only elite skills would be driving and handling makes more than a C who probably has 18-20 on each of ID, SB and RB. In fact in BB, I'm pretty sure Deandre would make 10 times more than Crawford.

Guys in NBA who can't defend make Jamal Crawford money and come off the bench.

That is unless they can score at an elite level. In the NBA, there are guys like Curry and Durant, both of whom are merely above average defenders. We all now that they're next contracts are going to be massive. Kevin Love is a mediocre defender, but he makes max money. James Harden's a terrible defender, but he already makes good money and is going to sign for even higher when his next contract comes around. Elite scorers in the NBA will make great money even if they're not good defenders. On the other hand, elite lock down defenders, especially guards, with limited offensive abilities (ie Bruce Bowen, Tony Allen) usually don't make alot of money.
