That's easy to say when there's 1200+ other clubs.

It's easy to say when it's a stupid argument. No manager would agree to give up their 150TSP athlete because their NT wants to steal them. If the player does have 150TSP, that means the club team spent YEARS(literally 3-4 years real life) and MILLIONS on the athlete to get him to where they are now. How do NT Managers have the right to steal these players from their clubs for the NT when the Manager of the athlete doesn't care for the athlete being on the NT with good GS.

I'm done arguing about this over the wrong topic post. This should not keep being discussed on this forum.

The 150 TSP guy we are talking about was sold to a manager wasting him. No stealing whatsoever necessary if GS was fixed. Fair solution in my opinion.

Patriots. Gave up Nate Ebner from training camp, OTAs, and preseason for Olympics for Rugby.

NBA. Warriors do run risk of Durant and Klay getting hurt....
It's all about perspective

USA NBA best Lebron and Curry aren't forced to play on team USA. Point proven. NBA first, not NT.

I disagree that this proves your point.

If USA "needed" LeBron and Steph to win it all, which they don't, then it would prove your point.

Instead I feel you are proving the other guys point that a Micro where they absolutely NEED the players NT before club.
For a team overflowing with more talent and pools of talent to pick from. Not the end of the world.

Well instead of just giving you two of the best players in the NBA, let me give you 11 players. Which is a full team. Even if you had talent that would still run the table after these guys, wouldn't you want these best players to make it almost impossible to lose any game.

Lebron James, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, Blake Griffin, Damian Lillard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard, and Robin Lopez.

Whether you can win with or without these guys, they are what you would call the 140-150 TSP guys that you'd be missing. As USA, you'd be playing with no one from the top 10 in your country. Does that mean we should force all of them to play? I don't think so.

Also, like said above, there are international players on NBA teams that aren't playing in the Olympics either.

Quit whining about Micro nations not getting their fair share. It's annoying.

But other nations are missing NBA players due to contractual differences or because those players prefer to rest (sometimes because their franchise asked them to rest) and they could absolutely use those NBA players.

Agreed. And that goes back closer to what the one person was/is arguing for. That for smaller countries where they don't have a pool of 30+ 140-150 TSP players to choose from. It makes a monumental difference when a team buys a player and just "ruins" their gameshape (for NT standards) so that their own club can succeed/tank/whatever.

There are possibilities teams are intentionally buying smaller nation bigtime players for such a purpose, there are possibilities they are not, no one can speak for the mindset and psyche of what a person plans to do with the moves they make except for the said person.

I do not think players should be forced to NT before their own club. But I think that poster has a point in that for smaller nation teams it is a huge huge problem that major nations don't have, or are less susceptible too, or are able to circumvent due to a larger pool of talent.

and since there's no alternative option or any way to balance it out, it creates huge differences in the competitive balance.
