dose it seams logic that a team will want to finish in the 6th place and not 5th if thy can?

There are people that feel being safe from relegation in 5-th place is all they need. It's twistedly different in some cases (you for example).

Let's be honest now. You do not actually know, how other people think. You need a poll for that, as some people do not speak their minds openly or better yet, do not speak english at all.
Where did you get those odds? From you're own yardsale?

There are two separate issues with the four teams in each league who do not get to play this Tuesday... and they should be considered separately.

1) The lack of a game for training purposes. 12 of 16 teams play this Tuesday. After Tuesday it reduces quite quickly... only 4 of the 16 teams could possibly be playing on next Tuesday... and the possibility exists that only 2 teams will be playing.

I suggested last season (and bumped it today in the suggestion forum) that the 5th and 8th place team play a forced scrimmage on the first Tuesday of the playoff week. This puts every team on even ground for training purposes in the first week. After that, these teams are in the same exact boat as the majority of the teams... they don't play on Tuesday.

2) The money issue is trickier. I was there last season... scraping by with no real income coming in. However, every team ends up having similar issues. The 4th place team that loses to the 1st place team makes some money... but it is not what they are used to making. For that matter, the 1st place team is making less than they normally would.

Strictly from a cash flow standpoint, the 6th/7th place teams make out like bandits. They are the only team in the playoffs guaranteed two games. I don't know the answer to that problem. But, I don't think giving teams scrimmage income is the correct way to go either. Perhaps make the 6th/7th place teams share only the income from the first game played. Perhaps distribute only a portion of the actual income generated from ticket sales. However... this probably should be in the suggestion forum as well.

[And, yes, I do understand that the 6th/7th place teams will suffer at some point in the future at the gate. But, as we all know, some teams need the cash flowing in constantly... turning off the tap even for a week or two leaves them in ruins.]

you are right the most logical thin to do is take away the money from the 6-7 that will fix the money problem i am not sure this will be the best way to try and make things on even ground but it is a start on thinking on stuff to do

we still have the extra one week training problem that the one above you have suggested a solution and it sound like a good one for me

As I mentioned in the other 5th place thread, real sports teams throw games so why not in Buzzer beater. It's all strategy and being aware of whats best for your team.

Yes being in 5th sucks, yes you don't get an income, but also yes teams can see this coming and if they really don't want to be "safe" in 5th they can take actions to avoid being stuck in their current predicament.

Cuzittt and Josef Ka are totally right. I have been ranked 3º and I am going to be eliminated in the 1º round. My playoff income will be something like 30-40k that its not much better than the fifth ranked will get.

rank 6th and 7th however risk the relegation,and the next season rise up again it's not so easy,especially in the highest division of biggest championship(take a look to the level of some italian III division).They have more incomes,but also more dangers than other teams,so i think it's not so fair to reduce incomes for teams who plays playout
The probelm is for the teams which arrives 5th(and also 8th),which don't have any incomes in these weeks
So I think that gave him the incomes of scrimmage generated by the system between the two 5th teeams and the two 8th teams could be fair(scrimmage with the few public of the normal scrimmages,with incomes divivde between the two teeams).It could be fair for every team

Its the teams at the top that are going to struggle to maintain the gap between them and the chasing pack so i would agree that a tapered reward system with the cash from 6th/7th place being distributed mainly to the 1st seed but give a little also to the 5th placed teams too.. i would hate to come across as being unfair.
