This week I trained Pressure and got a pop in JS from one of my players, which also happens to be his highest skill.

Hi
I made little experiment this week. I decided to waste my money and I bought 27 scrubs - 18-19 yo (because the fastest possible speed of training), potential >= 6, salary < 4k (because of guarantee they aren't capped), price = 1k (the cheapest). Finally I had 40 players in roster during training. And I trained FT this week. I hunted for cross pops and I expected few and maybe even in two different skills.
Other important information - most of these scrubs didn't play in last week (only 7 of them). And probably no one of my players is capped.
Result:
- 14 pops in FT
- 0 other pops.

So we can make little brainstorming and try to analyse this case. I have few hypotheses (the are only speculations):
- training of FT doesn't increase other skills (probably wrong because of information in first post in this topic)
- effect of cross training is very small
- to gain cross training during training of FT player has to play in week
- to gain cross training during training of FT player has to play in week on training possition (related to skill, which should pop thanks cross training)
- summary effect of cross training is constant (independent of number of trained players) and this effect is spread over all players (more trained players means less effect for each of them)
- effect of cross training during training of FT is independent of age of players.

Other my hypotheses (not related to this case):
- in one week all players in team train the same skill by using cross training. We should find two cross pops in different skills to reject it.
- if all players train the same skill it means that level of skills don't matter, skill trained thanks cross training is selected totally randomly.

This is, by far, the most interesting post in the whole thread. Did you only experiment for a single week on FT, or are you still training FT?

RB trained (ofc PF/C), technique popped also.

What is technique? Handling?

I am (was) frustrated because until now this "the most interesting post in the whole thread" was without response ;-) So I'm not sure users in this topic are interested to discover how cross training works ;-)

No, it was only one week single experiment because in other weeks I didn't use team training. Maybe in future (during short weeks between seasons).

I'm still waiting for my first cross pop ;-)
I'm not sure I have bad luck and I should be unhappy becaue of this reason or... 0 cross pops means that I have well rounded players and I should be happy because of it ;-)

I read it carefully the same day you post it and am very interested in continuation of your experiment. Sorry if I didn't reply to it...I'm looking forward to more weeks of your experiments, because the thing that bothers me the most is if those 10% of cross-training go all in one skill or are distributed among two or more skills. Few more weeks of your experimenting and I'm sure we will figure it out.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that we're kind of wasting our time "analyzing pops in cross training" if we're not, well, you know, analyzing anything. Making a list of cross training pops isn't analyzing, it's simple data collection.

I think we as a community need someone to really do an experiment like this, so that we'll know some answers to a lot of the points you mentioned (i.e., is it possible for more than one skill to be cross-trained in a single week?, etc.). Without a decent trial run, all we are doing is telling everyone we got an arrow somewhere, which is a waste of everyone's time IMO.

It's better if others, who have plan to use team training, will try do the same.

And it's better to buy players and to fire them before weekly update, because You can buy them for 1k, but their salaries are = 2-3-4k ;-) So sum of their wages will be 2-3-4 times higher ;-) And for example 20 players x 4k = wasted 80k, not 20k, it's visible difference ;-)

By firing such players I'm afraid they will vanish - players under 5k don't get enlisted if they're fired or "retired" with their team. I think a lot of people are doing this and less and less such players will be in circulation. That's why I'm holding onto my scrubs instead of firing them each week and replacing them. When their abilities will start to deteriorate, their wage will go under 1k so they will be "affordable"

We still should try to find two cross pops in one week in one team. (afaik nobody reported two cross pops, am I right?)
Then we could create more hypotheses (and reject others).
Maybe always only one player in team receives cross training? (Without confirmed two pops we can't reject this hypothesis).

You're right, but currently I think we still have enough scrubs in circulation ;-)
I made my hunting only in two days. I bidded ~50 (maybe ~70, for sure not more) players with parameters: 18-19yo, price=1k, potential>=6 and I bought 27 of them. After every draft we should have the same number of these players.

Keeping them in squad would be better for experiment, because if they received cross training then in next week they would have more chances for visible pop. But it has no sence for team which doesn't use team training.
If more than one player receive cross training, earlier or later we must find two cross pops. And it would be insteresting (we could have two pops in the same skill or in different skills, this information would be huge step to discover cross training).
