Actually I thought about it more and it was silly of me to do that. Oh well, like I said, you deserve to stay up more than I and I can give myself the consolation of telling myself I want to train my trainees anyway.

what you did makes most sense logically...but still a gutsy move!

i didn't even have the nerve to drop my second game in my playoffs last year.. i just went straight for the win

Akuma = chicken

i reckon going for the win in the away game (2nd game) is ballsier than dropping that game.

"Looks like the Moose is already making moves for season 21, adding a new 25yo, $90k, PG!"

Nothing get by you Vio. I am trading down in age as a lot of my players are in their late 20's or early 30's now. There will be some more activity over the next season. Once again I will be no real threat as I attempt to seal 5th position.

Looks like you're not the only one though, Cunnilingus and Akuma both have made post season purchases also. Looking like things might get a little more competitive next season!

Nice win Vio - handled me quite easily in the end.

Good luck in the finals.

Thanks DH, I thought it was a pretty good and very close game really. Didn't feel like it was locked in until the final 1:30. The score pushed out because your team started fouling and my guys were on fire from behind the free throw line. I was very glad to see your main scorer Homer hit the bench after fouling out, that's for sure!

Now on to the final showdown with Snuffies very formidable side!

Apologies for my lack of input over the playoffs, been crook with the flu for the last couple of weeks and haven't done much other than log in to set my team (and even that was an effort!)

I was pretty pleased to have taken Snuffies to OT in the first game, disappointed that I couldn't close the game out, but Snuffies would've been unlucky to go out in the first game after a pretty good season. It should be an interesting grand final series against Vios, especially after Vios has spent the entire season carrying on about how he chose the wrong season to make his push for promotion, how he is rebuilding and has no chance of winning, etc. Flying under the radar? Perhaps. In any event, well played sir... ;)

Special mention to the Windies who have put up a great fight in their first season in div 2. Not only were you unlucky enough to land in the toughest div 2 league, you also landed in the most competitive conference. Good luck on Tuesday, but if you do go down you shouldn't feel too bad, as you will have been dicked by the ol' tank 'n buy strategy. (The worst aspect of the game, imo... but that's another post for another day.)

Lordy - I will be honest and say I think your tactics of tanking and then buying up are against the spirit of the game (this goes for everyone that does the same thing), but at the end of the day you do what you have to do to stay up and you're not breaking any rules. So if you do win on Tuesday (and I think you probably will), congrats on surviving another div 2 season.

It will be interesting to see which ABBL team we end up with. Da Fat Boy Slim is obviously a bot and would provide a little relief in terms of competitive games... having said that, the competitiveness of all the games (especially on the blue side) is what makes it a great league, so I'm not sure if I'd like to see him land here. It might also increase the chances of the tanking strategy, as he will guarantee no team will be auto-demoted from whatever conference he lands in.

Fishy lost his relegation series and will be coming down. He will definitely be a challenge if he lands here, even if he does have to downsize slightly to fit within a div 2 income. Baxter is in the same category as Fishy. HA seems to have bought in two guns in the last week, so will also be a big challenge if he ends up here.

I'd like to say a quick thanks to everyone for making this a very enjoyable season. Most of us have been together for a few seasons now and I think we all seem to get along pretty well. Hopefully the forum activity increases even more next season as I have enjoyed chatting with you guys in here.

Good luck to Snuffies and Vios (and Windies and Lordy) and I'll see you all next season.

PS: Looks like a few teams have started making some moves for next season already...

No love for the storm who fought valiantly all season despite being locked in a bottom 2 spot all season
