Why is this game such a hit in Australia? Is basketball really that big there?

yeh i agree with that 100%, cant go through the divisions without facing stiff competition here.

I think some of the teams in Div III could easily match it with the teams in Div II.

I wouldn't say its huge, but during the early 90's basketball was everywhere & everyone played it!

There is a bit of a niche market for BBALL these days and i think BB is good way for those people to stay involved with BBALL one way or another.

Its not big in a sense where you see people playing on the courts all the time, but there are stadiums & some playgrounds that get packed out with people playing bball.

nice name by the way

jw is right, basket ball was massive in the 90s with the aussie team being top 4 in many international competitions, having a reall strong domestic competition the nbl that had many borderline nba level talent players and the nba itself being on free to air tv all the time

sadly it has been really badly managed since in every way

but for those of us were fans in the 90s we are hooked for life, i played nbalive to death and now love bb

as for those gunning for the naked virus and saying his advice is bad - you are wrong, and right

he is an excellent manager and has made his team a powerhouse in very short time - however his recipe for success is not for everyone and is not for me

he is australias no 1 day trader, he sells off his entire team all the time, when he doesnt need wins he will just buy a bunch of 1k players and then sack them all to save his core players, he doesnt care about his draft picks, developing players or even training anyone, i hear he is training game shape or stamina for the rest of the season

he has been super successful and has the respect of everyone that knows him for his brains, hard work and success - he is also very generous at helping others

that being said his personal recipe for success, while proven, is to my mind not much fun and i would never suggest it for a new player

if you want to have the best possible team in no time flat, sell all your players, fire all your staff, dont care about winning every second season and get great draft picks you can sell, buy and sell players on a daily basis for a big profit

you will be rich fast, but i aren't sure how much fun you will have just watching the numbers in your bank account grow while not actually playing and basketball games

everything the naked virus says is correct and he is an amazing manager, but i think his way to success is just not for me

I hear yeah! I am in the hardest div.3 in Canada, but the positive is I have learned a lot from being in a harder div. Hears hoping for a solid draft and a good strong year!

Just my two cents:

your star center is eating 70k of your income every week.

To me, I'd rather have a few 15k players rather than one 70k player who turns the ball over as much as he does. Perhaps you could put up his stats? It looks to me like he has one inflated stat which is why his income is so exp. If this is the case, you might wanna flog him off and use the money to buy two good players for more balance & better income per week.

You might want to experiment and up the prices for your courtside seats since you are selling out every game, perhaps reduce bleachers slightly. If you've got the chance to promote next season, perhaps start upping your arena a little. Reduce prices to sell more seats as your arena size increases?

Which are your main trainees?

Loïc Miel
Timo Paasimies

Perhaps you could look into a 3rd trainee as well as the other players are a little old, and with their current salaries, you might be better off getting a 18 year old to train instead. (draft's coming!)

Pretty cool that you have nice GS in general with only 9 players.

Jus curious about your expenses and rev as well... if you don't mind sharing : )

be my guest Vicelicious my main trainees are :

Loïc Miel
Timo Paasimies
jordan laurance(little old but improving well)

and about my income it's like that :

Player Salaries: $ 128 720 Attendance: $ 75 458
Staff Salaries: $ 36 706 Merchandise: $ 18 930
Scouting: $ 0 TV Contract: $ 68 270
Total: $ 165 426 Total: $ 162 658
Typical Weekly Net Income: $ -2 768

Tho story behind game shape is because i had 12 players yesterday but i sold 3 good players to keep jonathan (70k player) so i have now 9 players, i did that cuz i know i'll have new draftees although i know they might be very bad but i belive that a 70 k player will take me to another level of competition, my future stratigy for next season is to keep the best one of the new draftees, that means i'll have a total of 10 players, keep training loic+timo+new draftee and spending 200k on arena + buying new star SF (timo will be a back up for him ) what do you think? your opinion matters my freind ;).
