I don't know, I had a team in my league last season that demoted from div III and he didn't fill more than half of his stadium untill the last few weeks of the season, and he was the division leader all season.

Yeah, I still lean towards the promoton attendance bonus ending at the return to interconference play. I would assume that relegation penalty would be analogous.

You're completely right, the economy of the game is broken and so is the training.
HELLO, when people don't want their players to improve because they'll become to expensive, that's when you know there's a problem! When $500,000 salaried players sell for less than a mill because no one can afford to pick up that salary, there's another problem!~
And the other issue of training, it's so brutally slow. It isn't as serious as the economic system of the game though.

If people could easily afford the salaries of the stupidly overtrained, then those players would keep being trained even further.

If a player is trained to such absurdly high levels in a couple of skills as to be unaffordable (and these are generally your monster big men with little to no training in things like handling/passing), then they are stupidly overtrained. You specifically cited guys with $500,000 salaries which I expect was a slight exaggeration, but if it's a player nobody can afford for any real length of time, it's not a player who is well-trained. National Teams of course are delighted to see these guys survive, but the reason that nobody's going to shell out much money for them isn't the 'broken' economy but the fact that they're a disastrous player for any club team to own.

I know nothing of relegation, but my fans survey can drop after a win, so go figure..
