Well, the opening round of matches were played yesterday, and there were some interesting results. 5th seed, the Bamberg Gladiators begin the season atop of the ladder with an 81-point thrashing of 10th seed, the Westopian Tigers. This was an absolute mauling with the Tigers scoring double-digits in only one quarter! Game:

upset of the round was Vindicta's 92-84 away win over the SPB Eagles, with Vindicta's roster depth proving the difference in this encounter. Game:
(136209838)Top seeds Santa Eufemia Ducks (#1) and the Flower of Scotland (#2) met in the opening round, and it was the top seed Santa Eufemia Ducks who prevailed with a 98-76 win at home. Clearly, HCA will play a role as teams play 18 games across this lengthy season. Game:
(136209837)Most games seemed pretty well decided by the 3rd quarter except for Les Gueux du Marais's 23-point 4th quarter turn-a-round to register a strong away win against the Heywood Lions. Game:

In fact, the Swan River Serpents held a 2-point lead at half time before WiMaOlCa won the second half 48-26. Game:
