I know, with MVP he would be a stud, but with one more PA pop, 1 more ID, 2 more RB, maybe couple of SB if he doesnt cap he will still be a good starter in Naismith

You definitely overpaid for Jakes. 1.8M for superstar potential, lol.


I'm honestly not sure what his potential has to do with it?

His skill set is almost perfect for a guard. He'd start for most of the D1 teams in the world and fit into a team's budget quite nicely with his salary. Yes he might have overpaid a little but it's not about how high is salary is, it's about how good his skills are for his salary. A guy like that would go for at least $1.4 million 10 times our of 10 if he wasn't injured.

His potential has everything to do with it. Why else would you pay 1.8M for a player of that skill set at the age of 23- obviously to keep him as the future of the franchise and continue training him. With superstar potential he is basically capped. Compounded with the fact that he was injured, Jakes was probably worth around 1.5M at the time. He won't be getting any better, and when you compare that skill set with players on the TL, you can pick up those players for roughly 1.2M, albeit a little older.

Of course potential has everything to do with price, but I do hope I will be able to squeeze couple of pops out of him (inside skills and one PA). If not then I am still fine with it. As I said, until he is 32-33 I wont need a replacement for starting PG even at highest levels, and his salary should be max 115k (if I get the pops I want). So since he will most likely start for 9 seasons, 200k a season is not bad, especially since even if he brings just 5k weekly in merchandise, 70k a season gain for me.
Yes, I was close to picking up player similar to him for 900k, but I really do want all canadian team so that did drive a price up significantly (and the fact that he is 4 years younger than that other player)

Well several key member's of the Odyssey are now available, pay early and pay often :)

A couple of these guys are also NT players so will provide a really nice boost.

It's a sad day. TSA, once a starter on the Canadian National Team, is saying goodbye to The Hounds.

It's been a great season, top 10 in Naismith scoring and shooting over 60% from the field. Makes his FT's. Great passer. Solid outside defender even a decent shotblocker. Still one of the best Canadian born players at age 34.

why didnt you mention later that you will be selling off your team? Maybe then I would wait with Jakes' transaction.

By the way. Is anyone interested in Hadley? I am considering selling him, but will only put him up on transfer list if someone displays interest
