Yes. I think that main problem for these teams isnt the income, but the fact that theirs training is ruined.

I´ve finished in 5th place this season(2nd time in 6 seasons) and it´s very bored playing only scrimmages until next season begins, but the most annoying thing is the economy, i´ve to sell players and fire the staff to equilibrate the balance and try to be competitive next season.

I know this fact,is the same situation of the all star break. But more than ruined,i think that some teams could use these games to train players out of their position or try new tactics solutions with thier starter teams(often scrimmages give poor indications),so it's better to say that thier training is changed more than ruined

You all need to look at the silver lining. 5th and 8th place teams can really make long strides in their Free Throw and Stamina training. That's what the All-Star week and post-season is intended for, after all!

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

is it really intended for it :) normally use those scrimmage only weeks to train out of position and make Free Throw and Stamina, during weeks where i want to lineup my best players several times or when fouls etc. destroy my minutes.

The ability to train Freethrow and stamina, at least it not an advantage because you could do that also with three game weeks.

Well thats what happens when you end up like this. However scrimmages should give you an opportunity to at least do your training.

We are possibly talking about 1 SC in advance only, because there are teams which will play only 1 PO game anyway... So I think that there could be 1 SC in advance for them and 2 SC for these who end up on 5th or 8th place.

These weeks usually are pretty boring and sounds to me like adequate that someone thanks to that opportunity would not want to end up on 6th place from now on.

The issue about FT and ST shouldnt be about you have to do that, because it is most effective training these days. I dont find as a contribution the fact that you are forced to do something what you doesnt do, just because you doesnt understand what is it about.

I'm just trying to take away the 5th/8th place blues a little. If you prefer, I could go the opposite way...

Only losers and get stuck with the worthlessness of 5th or 8th place, and the devastating loss of income combined with the extremely limited training opportunities will surely cause total destruction and annihilation upon any team unfortunate enough to be doomed by such a dismal end to the season. Alcoholism rates are much higher among team managers who finish in 5th or 8th place than any other place in the standings, including 7th place.

How was that?

I know maybe the opions here are to extreme, but in my eyes the advantage is to big from the teams who finished first/make it to the finals compared to the 5th placed teams.(and also the teams who fly out with 33% of the income after the first round)
I think even with a smaller difference of income, i would target to finish the season as succesful as possible.

It is my theory that this has been such a squeaky wheel issue for so long that sooner or later something will give. The Powers That Be just haven't told us if they're thinking about doing anything different about this issue. I sometimes see the forum as a sort of public petition, and when I see a whole lot of griping about the same things over and over again, a change tends to get made. We have so much more time to spend extra time griping about 5th/8th place this season now that the one of our old favorite complaint topics, the draft, has been addressed. From what I can tell, other issues also get addressed when they they consistently get a ton of Forum chatter (day trading, market inflation, etc.). Maybe the right solution hasn't been hit upon yet, or maybe it's secretly in the works, who knows. I have faith.

But in the meantime, the wise will figure out that Free Throw training can net a team an average a few points per game if not neglected, and that could mean the difference between winning an losing a couple of times each season. Embrace Free Throw training!
