Well, we decided to chicken out for this one.

With 5 rotation players our of top-shape, after logging too many minutes last week, I figured it would be better to tank enthousiasm and manage minutes carefully this week. It turns out to be a bad mistake, probably would have won the game by not playing tie or playing my A-rotation. But I assume you also gambled a little bit?

Hopefully see you again later this season.

H

lol.

i though i had played Normal here :D apparently last orders weren't registered. Ow well, game won, i'm not going to complain. it's up to you to determine if i gambled here or not :P But considering that your opponent is the NT coach, and that he analyses most things very carefully, i'd say that when i take a risk, it's a very well calculated one.

this said, i'm very surprized about your 21y old C. He held his own against a BBBL worthy opponent ( Bari), yet he's only asking 20k in wages. My DMI on Bari is 3x that of your 21y old C. still grabbing 5 OR's against Bari ain't a feat that many have been able to do so far.

You've got a good team. i'll be expecting more from it at the end of the season, but considering my best 2 players hardly got on the court, i can't help but feel pretty confident. this win puts me slightely ahead for the HCA race, but the season is still long. But i like entertaining the idea that i could win on your court if i wouldn't end up having HCA (it would be a highly contested game, but i've held back more than you did).

shocked about the amount of FT's. And 13 blocks over the entire game, goes to show that both teams have some excellent defense. Considering that my defense is close to BBBL worthy, you should be pretty happy with the team you've got.

And i ain't going to deny, better GS would have changed the result because i underestiamted your 20k C ( an error which won't happen the next time around). still, as i said: I've got a lot of bad match-up players who can draw fauls and get to the line. This game is a perfect example of that.

PS: the guy defending your SF had OD 2 :P just incase you were wondering why your SF scored so much :P had inversed defensif roles, believing your SF would be the spot would be one of your poorest offensif spots. Didn't like seeing Tsigas there!

Pfiiiiiouuuu, what a match against Wabeke!

I took the first half, he took the second with a 8pts average lead, and 2min before the end of the match, we were even.
Thanks to Bala almost on the buzzer! This young boy will become "somebody" in a near future.
Very happy with Lemos (47pts!), Barral (9 assists) and happy as well about Branas who was wounded on the field, he's in good shape this morning!

So Mission Accomplished, beating top 2 of Great 8 conference was a secret dream, who came true now.

I hope my directs opponents (Mianus, Beerschot & Armstrong) will lose some points against Wolves and Wabeke now...

Thanks for the compliment on our center. Think he should be worth around 30-35k in salary at the moment, because he already popped several times this season.

When you have HCA and add Marichal and Ottevaere to the line-up you will be close to unbeatable in this league.
I wouldn't worry too much if I were you.

Luckily my conference buddies are also on a losing spree, so we are happy to hold on to the nr1 spot in our conference.

my biggest concern remains the Suns. But big defensif teams always are difficult to beat. if your offense ain't rolling on a day, then you are in for it...

So i'm not going to dismiss your team so easely.

I second that.

His outside game is probably better or as good but his inside game is worse, no doubt.

good thing my bigs know how to play outside and that my guards know how to play inside if you are reading me Kwyjibo ;)

hows the BBBL treating you? i'm hoping to go back up into the Big 8 division. Would be nice for a change to play against other teams.and from a draft perspective it's also the better division to be in, in the event my economy would be stretched to the limit before going back up.i've got 2 spots to fill and not much cash, to first season will once again be one for survival. But i'll worry about that once i get there :D

first gotta get outa II again, and it won't be that easy. but i'm delighted to see you are still active.

Thinking about just relegating and rebuilding with the cash I get in the following weeks. My team is just not good enough to compete in first division. Only had about 2 million to spend when I joined the BBBL which just isnt enough. Now Im just going to take the money, the draft pick and try to return next season (got a good enough team to immediately become a champion).

Need to obtain a new generation of players good enough to compete in BBBL. My old generation (Gunduz, etc.) wont last for much longer. I need more younger players :-)

tanking becomes much harder now. i had a simular problem. i've got a full group of belgians now. If we exclude Ottevaere, i got a team that could go on for a while. I'll replace the older players slowely. Got a couple of nice ones comming along and i should be able to fight in the BBBL soon enough. There are some positions which you just can't train and need a lot of cash to buy. PF's are one of those positions. and new generation guards are also hard to find. Joe is once again building a team that is going to be rock solid. I'm expecting him to get several championships once again. Question is, will he hang on to Vercaigne and Mees or try to sell them and salvage some cash from them for his next players.

in the BBBL to be succesfull, you need to be shrewed, find good deals and gotta take shots when you can. i'm going to go up with some cash, tho i might go for a player just before the PO's. if i find the right guy, then i'll go for it. That way, i'll keep group together. Considering the BBBL, Marichal and Asim are worthy of the lvl imo. Baudoux, De Cloedt and Corman are great back ups. And Otto will be something special because of his XP.

But i'll need a new Guard and a new Big man when i join the BBBL if i want to compete.

cool stats. You should do that more often. Really cool stuff. And Looks like Thomas Cook is just targetted by the refs... teams should be carefull who they field against them, cause high ammount of fauls brings a higher risk for an injury... Bitt surprized that Ottevaere didn't get the MVP of the evening. We're talking about grabbing 20 boards at the SF spot here, combining that with dropping 32 points on the opponent. Altho, i'm pretty sure i could earn some MVP honors at another game :D So i don't mind seeing Hackett run away with it.

anyone noticed for the Allstar game the selection that the team who is currently leading the race for PO HCA ( Antwerp Angels) only has got 2 back-ups in the allstar game?

i've got a team with NT worthy SG Marichal, allong with a great Bigman in Bari and Far above average Baudoux. And i've got the former NT SF Ottevaere running around too. And who gets in? my back up Guard/forward and my Bigman Bari... Those aren't even the top 2 players on my roster.

you can argue that Marichal was injured for a while and that he played out of position, but Vercaigne did so in the BBBL last season and got the nod in the allstar game despite playing most of the time at the SF, PG or C spot... but Ottevaere should have made that list either as a SG or a SF, because he played a lot of games there.... pretty disappointed by the allstar selection...
