I'm leaning towards 4 teams for the playoffs but happy to go with the majority.

There will be a massive rush on the TL during the next few days! I honestly would like to fire all of my tram, but buying new players right now will be massively expensive :S And everybody's on the same boat so...
Wherr did you end up? I'm in IV.38

Knew this would happen and didn't act on it
Was thinking of loading up on players in the 33-37 age range
buy low and they would transfer high, and right now that's a fact.
Too late

Ya I hear ya, Gunner.

My team is full of stinkers too. Lol I don't have a player over a 3k salary. Rofl

So..... My connection is quite slow right now so no invitations just yet.... Hopefully later tonight or tomorrow... I'd like to confirm everyone has got there team etc. In the meantime I'd like to update the status of our 12th team and how the playoffs will be run.

Firstly, our 12th team is owned by the "Legendary" (lol) RiP. He has been gracious enough to expand our league to 12 teams. As many of you know he basically went inactive in Canada 2 seasons ago. At the same time he has a 2nd team. RiP has determined that he won't be buying any players but only training the players he was given. I won't hold him to that if chooses another route but the question is if that's alright to our majority of owners? When we first spoke I didn't know what his activity level would be, I like that his players would improve during the season and he might be able to squeak out some wins not just at the beginning of the season but perhaps later as well. I'm just putting it out there to our UCPL members.

Secondly, after much reflection (which I probably should spent on Game 3 of the Naismith Finals), I believe an 8 playoff team format is the way to go. Us as managers are going to use all sorts of different methods to try to improve our team. Be it purchasing players, increasing our stadium, staff etc. An 8 team playoff format would let 2/3 of the teams in the playoffs but with so much going on for our particular teams I think it might be best. My main reasoning behind this how will playoffs work? We are playing on a neutral site for every game of the regular season. That's happening. But how would the playoffs work? Will Homecourt come up in the playoffs? And if the answer is Yes. I fully support an 8 team playoff format to keep everyone involved and to have playoff seeding still give the advantage to the top 4 teams. I need an answer from someone who has played in a strictly neutral site reagular season type of League.

So that's it, gonna be checking back here every so often, let me know you thoughts and we'll get this started up! Bringing RiP somewhat out of retirement is an extra +1

Well every team has there second team setup except for our 11th team run by Kergillian http://www.buzzerbeater.com/team/24869/overview.aspx I've sent him a message that I would like to setup the league no later than tomorrow evening (probably around 7pm EST). I would preferably send out the invitations to the UCPL tonight. He has not been online since the 30th of March....

There has been some problems with Utopian teams starting Private Leagues. Check the Private League AD's thread in the Utopian Forums for details. BB management is on the case, though we might not be able to start the UCPL until not this Friday but next Friday (Apr 11th). Everyone try to stay patient and we'll get this thing going.

Also, check your Preferences when logged in as your second team. The tab: Make your team available for any private league (Supporters Only) should be set to YES instead of NO. Apparently this has also been a source of some problems as it's set to NO to begin with.

I have created the UCPL League itself and have been able to invite Morwood's team into the League. So check those preferences and I'll keep you guys up to date and invite users as I can.
