Ahh the offseason, that magical time when salaries rise and the Dutchmen draft three worthless players.

I forgot about that part. I might have to sell John Barr. Any of you oldies want to reconnect? I've made him a better passer and defender.

My team spirit wasn't great either so I don't think I would have done it better than you. If salaries doesn't kill me this season I should have a more competitive team....

1 day from Nihaenko back in the lineup, my thick depth didn't suffice and what a bummer. But I always told myself that even if I don't promote at least I love the guys around this division so would be nice to be here another 4 months and not be the new guy anymore.

Playoffs/Relegation

Terrors at Allstars

Terrors came out looking to redeem themselves and extend their season in III.4. Putting everything into this one Jansen did not disappoint with 30 pts and 15 boards. Turnoves were the difference in some games last time and the theme continued tonight. With 14 turnovers the Terrors struggled to come back and in the end were not able to overcome the sloppy play. The Allstars take this one and in the end remove some of the Terror from the Terrors. Allstars 94 Terrors 84

NP at Flames

The NP boys came into the "hot" house tonight looking to even the score. Both teams looked to shoot early and often. Some great scorers at work tonight with Csickos and Beckman perfoming admirably for the NP gang while Chango and Doggra paced the Flames with some nice scoring of their own. Two things brought the NP gang to their knees. First they had trouble hitting the long ball going 6 for 28 compared to the Flames who were 11 for 29. Second NP had trouble again tonight with keeping their fouls down. These two problems were a recipe for disaster and the Flames burnt em on this one. Flames 112 NP 98

VD's at Phantoms

VD's looking to play spoiler this season used an outside isolation offense which may have backfired a bit. But before we cast judgment you have to consider the Phantoms defense which has been stellar and shut down the best of teams this season. With a huge PD to prove it Phantoms were not interested in losing tonight and shutdown the VD's offense. When you score 5 in the fourth you know you are in for a rough night. Phantoms 71 VD's 53

Challengers at Blasters

Perhaps the most interesting game of the night these teams have taken turns going back and fourth through the 1-4th spots of their division. Each team has played well and each team has struggled. In a very true sense this game appeared to come down to the secret ingredients for winning in BB. best enthusiasm plus best game shape plus home court advantage equals a win........usually. Challengers played well with the MVP Skalec draining 25 but Schultz was too hot for the Challengers tonight and drained 34 to end the Challengers challenge. Blasters 116 Challengers 96

Preview

Phantoms bring their no nonsense defense and steady offense against the on again off again Blasters. to be fair the Blasters spent some time manuevering players during the Cup run which cost them a few games while the Phantoms narrowly missed going undefeated if it weren't for the pesky cup lineups and a lucky last second shot. Both teams have great strengths with few weaknesses. To win this game the other teams weakness must be exposed and the Phantoms have been awesome in doing so all season long. With a guady PD of 814 points I don't see any wisdom in voting against the Phantoms but the Blasters are not out of it at all. Strangers things have happened and the two teams who really played most consistent on both sides made the finals. Congrats to both and good luck to both in your final games.

Finals/relegation

All Stars at Terrors

Both teams at this point are one and done so with all the marbles on the table both teams brought it tonight. Allstars had three go double digit points but it would not be enough as the Terrors put 5 there. This game came down to shooting and tonight perhaps with the home crowd cheering the Terrors were just better. They had more field goals and more 3 balls so in the end that spells a win and prepping for another season in III.4. The All Stars are a great team and i am sure they will be back up to torture D III again soon. Terrors 112 AS 95

Blasters at Phantoms

One team looked to go inside and the other looked to shoot away. Dube for the Phantoms was awesome tonight draining 33 pts and going 4 for 5 from long range. The Phantoms led throughout and by early in the third this one was over. The Phantoms will visit the Blasters next game where Blasters fans look forward to their team getting back on track.
Phantoms 106 Blasters 78
