Tankers make more money than winners, that's the bigest problem in tanking. #1 no doubt. So why do we let the losers tank? WHY? Cause they want to either

A. Load up with 100+k monsters to stay in the league
B. Get a chance at a great draft pick
C. Get the cash.
D. It's hard for the winners to make cash with their average-star players (by league), thus making them go in red or just making less than 10k a week.
E. To relegate, get the promotion cash+the tank cash.

All those are the problems. We can stop A by moving the deadline. We can kill B by doing the "Draft Lottery" As in the NBA. For example, this year the Bobcats were the worst team in the league. But with the lottery system, Hornets got the top pick. Listen to Maggots' idea and stop B (doing a lottery of the top six picks)
We can stop C by when they lose by 40+ points, take away their arena income. If it comes to where they don't field five guys (push the # of players on the court to 5) it's a WO and KO the TV+arena. There. That'll make em feel bad and hopefully they can feel like D. I praise D because then the top teams in a 40+pt loss get divided by the # of 40 and less losses (what I'm saying is take away arena income for the 40+point loss teams, then add it up. Divide it by the # of teams that DID compete or tried.)
Back to D. Example: 3 Teams loose by 40+ pts, let's say Team A gets 289k from arena. Team B gets 253k. And team C gets 275. Add em up.=817k. Divide that by the # of teams that DID comepte. 817 divided by 13 teams=62.8k I think. (my calculator got too many .########) I know I think this is a D3 based arena income. So 62.8k is still worthwhile in D3. D2 and D1 it's a blessing. D. is eliminated.
Elinminate E. by this; For relegation, take away 20% (1/5) of the cash they have. That should dent them there. E. Is eliminated. Got it everyone?????

All of those suggestions are worth thinking about. But I think the easiest solution to stop tanking is: reduce arena income drastically if you lose all your games with more than 50 points.

Tanking for draft picks is no problem, because there is quite a big chance that the number one pick is not worth more than 100-200k, sometimes even less.

Tanking for money is the problem. It seems that you will make more money tanking than training your players and that is just wrong.

+1

Tanking is not one in a choice of strategies, it is the supreme strategy.

More and more teams tank, now several teams in the same league tank. Why should it stop ? More and more teams in a league may tank, at least part of the season, except those going for the title. Why would you keep a roster to win half of your games by 100+ ? If there are many teams tanking, you can always save yourself later in the season. It makes sense strategically, how can you guarantee this will not happen, half the league tanking ? Would it make an interesting game ?

Some want to see the game from an individual perspective only, tanking is a choice that one makes to beat the others. They completely disregard that a few tanking teams in a league ruins it, the whole season and the appeal for the game. Devs might want to take this into account.

And very importantly, the same teams in top leagues you are talking about, many have gone broke and are saving their asses with tanking. They have/had an ageing roster worth peanuts, they would have gone down, tanking is their life-belt. Tanking is not promoting the renewal of top teams.

but tanking its not a problem.

Tanking IS a problem. This game, and I think many agree with me, should be about basketball tactics and basketball team management, not about the tanking the way it is being used.

I know the game can't be realistic, but closer the better and tanking is waaaaaaaay off.
