Take it like a man? You mean just ignore the issue? You're quite the solutions man.

Here are the simple facts to those of you trying to argue the "real life" angle.

1. In professional basketball people do not forfeit because they don't have players. Outside of a catastrophe their are no forfeits and even with a catastrophe the game is usually rescheduled. So the fact is this shouldn't happen so why be penalized for it?

2. You do not get your training done during games. Training is done outside of games. You have a hired trainer in this game...exactly what training is he doing during games???? So those of you saying training comes during games in real life are incorrerct....I am a coach by profession, trust me on this one. Experience comes from games, training absolutely does not.

3. Since training is done in practice...guess what? All players get trained. Now the starters get more attention than the lower reserves because the lower guys on the totem pole usually play scout team, BUT a lot of guys get good training, not just 3-6. In the NBA I would argue that everyone on the roster gets great coaching and training during PRACTICE....that's how players are DEVELOPED.

I am sure I could go on but hopefully those of you on whichever side you are on get the picture. You can't compare this game to real life regardless of how close you try to mimic things. Since it's a game, it is unfair to penalize someone's training because of something that happens as a result of a player dropping more players than he should be allowed to.

How do you fix this? IT'S EASY and it does not involve switching training minutes. All you have to do is GET RID OF FORFEITS! How do you do this? Disallow teams to sell players or fire players once they are down to 5 guys. Now you may say, but what if they don't field a lineup with 5 guys??? Here is how you fix this! On the set lineup page require the manager to keep 5 players in his lineup and make it automatically start 5 guys if they are not in the lineup.

TADA! Not only do I talk about the issues, I provide the answers! Isn't that great? Now on a serious note, can anyone tell me why these simple fixes wouldn't work?

Maybe they could overwork the pratice game(the match you see in a blowout), so that 48 minutes gets possible but not secure and player could injure and foul out in it.

Well during the game you still would have the "lucky fan" play for the injured players.

As for after the game, I think automatically placing 3 interim players is an easy fix. They would have terrible skills, but would still be forced to play. Most teams that are at 5 players are not competitive anymore anyway so who cares if players are automatically added that are terrible. There are other games that do this....we have bot teams, why not bot players?

If it came down to it, and the admins don't like the first idea, then yes the team should be forced to add players or play the injured players in the lineup only to still have "lucky fans" play in their place. It doesn't matter who plays for that team because they aren't trying to be competitive anyway.

You could rework the minutes to make 48 possible, BUT I agree with you guys that sometimes injuries or freak substitutions derail training minutes and the 48 isn't always a given. That's why I am discussing a way to stop forfeits and not try and fix training minutes in a forfeit because it is far tougher and more debatable to fix that issue. No reason to mess with this issue if you just get rid of the bigger problem, which are forfeits.

Why couldn't the team without players just be forced to play with lucky fans even if you didn't want to create a 5 player minimum rule? Again it would still simulate the entire game and training minutes would be calculated by the actual game, and by the forfeit standard minutes rule.

The only thing that could derail this in my mind is if people abused this to cause their team to be very weak in order to give the other team a very big margin of victory to help with point differential. In these cases the teams could be reported and called out as "cheaters" and punished accordingly.

Problem with 5 lucky fans: they are very foul prone -> thus your players tend to foul often aswell. That will eventually result in even more problematic minute distribution. Perhaps BB-s could tone lucky fans down a bit.
There are forfeits in professional basketball. It happens rarely but it still happens. No flights because of snow, ash clouds. Ofcourse there are some games you can reschedule, but that option would really mess up BB. Creating players to fill lineup does not seem to be a good option aswell.
Restricting sales and retireing below 5 players might be an option, but I can think atleast one problematic situation right away. You have 5 players all high salary, your balance is $-whatever. Your weekly income is also in -. What can you do? Can't buy players, can't sell players. There are no minimal contracts in this game. Bankrupt:(

they make it with lucky fan, which usually result that after 3 quarter your team is fouled out, thats why they make it like today :) But i think they could work that out, count the game as 25:0 and use the calculated minutes, with a game vs a standard "bot like" team, and take this minutes and count it as a 25:0.

Forfeits do not happen....it's called reschedule or maybe canceled, but for any respectable league this does not happen.

Now if a team is trying to be successful and have 5 high salary players then we all know this is not a good option and I have not found anyone doing this yet. It would be really easy to tone down the "lucky fans" also.

Most teams that are forfeiting games are going to end up being a bot, therefore who cares if they go bankrupt. In other games I play if a team goes below the minimum amount of players then they are automatically assigned a game created free agent that is the lowest level possible player. If need be those players could have $0 salary since they would be atrocious at everything. This is a very fair way and besides the teams that have this issue are not trying to be competitive so who cares if they have the worst possible players or if they go bankrupt???

the thing is that the prohability of fouls mainly depends on the "aggressiness" of both participated players, and maybe the BB thing it would be better to give that to the lucky fans for regualar matches because ability plays a role who make the actions. So a lucky fnan in a regular match, wouldn't shoot and draw fouls a lot(because the regular player acts better in the offense) but will foul his opposition more often who will make a lot of action because he can not defend.

Another reason for this is that he shoot with a low percenatage and and ones aren't that often, too.
